Angelo Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM Posted yesterday at 12:40 AM I'm not really familiar with her. I live in the UK, and her song 'Messy' has been everywhere lately. It seems like she's getting a similar treatment to Sabrina Carpenter on Apple Music. Is she trending on TikTok? I've listened to her song a few times, and I do like it. Any explanation?
Minto Posted yesterday at 12:49 AM Posted yesterday at 12:49 AM so you don't even know if she's trending on tiktok and you're accusing her of payola 7 2
Lightbringer007 Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM messy has been going viral alot on tiktok, same with her tyler the creator collab also shes very talented so its deserved!
MatiRod Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM Idk about "payola" per se but when you're signed to a major label, if you start to show real traction and are getting a hit, a lot of $$$ will be put behind you. It's how the music industry works. The streaming services also want to get behind a hit and a hot new artist because they want to stay relevant and want people to listen to their playlists, same as what MTV did back in the day. The industry rallies around whoever is streaming and selling well. 6
CottageHore Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Because the song is amazing. I literally can't stop listening to it. Maybe talent won… again! 2024 and 2025 best years in music like 2009 and 2010 1 1
hallucinate Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM (edited) it was revealed that tiktok has been pushing messy to become a viral hit (and they succeeded) her label probably wanted to invest in her after the collab with tyler the creator became a hit Edited yesterday at 01:04 AM by hallucinate 3
americanlife Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM I'm definitely noticing the payola and I'm not a fan of the song.
Taylor fanboy Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM Love the song Messy! 2025's Anti-Hero I fear.
dumbsparce Posted yesterday at 01:19 AM Posted yesterday at 01:19 AM First time listening to this song and I had to immediately check if it samples Instant Crush bc the instrumental is awfully familiar.
jdanton2 Posted yesterday at 01:21 AM Posted yesterday at 01:21 AM song is good and now it needs radio to pick it up.
Bussea Posted yesterday at 01:29 AM Posted yesterday at 01:29 AM (edited) is it payola or just an artist you're not familiar with being well liked by other people who bothered to click and enjoy their music? Edited yesterday at 05:12 AM by Bussea 3
JustHoran Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Her song has started going viral on Tiktok atleast here in the US. I hear it all the time and it made me go and buy the song. It's a bop

Sawk Posted yesterday at 12:53 PM Posted yesterday at 12:53 PM I'm lowkey living for messy, usually not a fan of clearly fabricated hits, but this one just scratches a certain itch
