jakeisphat Posted Saturday at 11:16 PM Posted Saturday at 11:16 PM Dry January is the practice of abstaining from alcohol use for 31 days in the month of January. Are you doing Dry January in 2025? If not, have you done it in the past? Did you notice a difference?
Bussea Posted Saturday at 11:21 PM Posted Saturday at 11:21 PM girl i'm drinking rn and my birthday next week 😭
Nico Robin Posted Saturday at 11:22 PM Posted Saturday at 11:22 PM Maybe, I still feel like **** because of new years. However there are many birthdays in January (including mine) so that probably won't happen
DevilsRollTheDice Posted Saturday at 11:24 PM Posted Saturday at 11:24 PM (edited) I did dry January last year and never went back! Idk if y'all saw the American surgeon general warning today about alcohol and cancer, but I'm not sure I'll ever drink again. Canada recently changed their guidelines as well. It's very fun and I look back fondly on my drinking days, but it's a substance that is incredibly bad for our bodies that also causes many people to damage their relationships and do things they regret. If you're considering it, I found it difficult at first but now am shocked that my life is just as fulfilling as before. I'm also much healthier and more toned lol. You also notice how much people embarrass themselves while drunk and how messy it is when you're not doing it yourself. Edited Saturday at 11:25 PM by DevilsRollTheDice
Illuminati Posted yesterday at 12:01 AM Posted yesterday at 12:01 AM I'll try, I shouldn't be drinking anyways while on my meds
Alldeezy Posted yesterday at 12:09 AM Posted yesterday at 12:09 AM I barely drink anyways think I'll only drink on my friends birthday in March so dry January and dry February for me
Draper. Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM (edited) I always do a couple of 30 days sober periods throughout the year, but it's impossible for me to start on January 1st. Edited yesterday at 12:14 AM by Draper.
OnikaSlays Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Nope, it's my birthday month and I plan on getting wasted.
Dante Silva Posted yesterday at 12:18 AM Posted yesterday at 12:18 AM I haven't drank alcohol since 2021 and I don't miss it at all. 3 1
KFC Posted yesterday at 12:18 AM Posted yesterday at 12:18 AM I tried and failed 13 hours into the 1st so I tried again and failed again on the 3rd and now it's the 5th and I just opened a bottle of Prosecco 1
sugarysunflower Posted yesterday at 12:24 AM Posted yesterday at 12:24 AM No If you have to abstain from alcohol by doing Dry January, you're only kidding yourself that you have an addiction or dependency issue with that substance for the other 11 months of the year.
Sergi91 Posted yesterday at 12:55 AM Posted yesterday at 12:55 AM Yes! I'm not drinking until my best friends' bday in March!
endless_sorrow Posted yesterday at 01:15 AM Posted yesterday at 01:15 AM Nope I think Ill puke in a couple of hours also
Gov Hooka Posted yesterday at 01:30 AM Posted yesterday at 01:30 AM I rarely drink and do illicit substances this past year and I hate that I actually do feel WAY healthier mentally and physically as a result. (not to mention going out to parties/raves sober has led to more wholesome interactions and new friendships!). Cutting back/moderation is such a great step!
