TouchinFree Posted Saturday at 09:53 AM Posted Saturday at 09:53 AM (edited) https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS6yst5fo/ https://www.tiktok.com/@popculturey2k Iam DEAD, I'm a massive Hilary stan but I never knew she was THIS savage? I mean I knew the ongoing Lindsay drama but she also CLOCKED all these girls I'm living Also don't you miss this kind of directness, a little bit? Celebrities just didn't care back then and said what they wanted. Looks like a reality show. Edited Saturday at 10:00 AM by TouchinFree 1

I always viewed her as an innocent, abit naive popstar who was cute and harmless. But God damn she even got Avril mad, and you know how aggressive and hard-core/tough Avril was in the 2000's. Lindsay seemed timid too Edited Saturday at 11:21 AM by TouchinFree

She is neither aggressive nor hard core. It was marketing. Ffs, she married the guy from Nickelback

I mean in comparison with Hilary? No way were they in the same category. Hilary was marketed as a squeaky clean blonde popstar. Avril was heavily branded as.... anti-Britney. So it's weird for me to see that.

Always puzzled when folks see it that way.

Always puzzled when folks see it that way. Tbh it was definitely seen by the public as that. I know I was a sucker for that too and remember kids , teenagers and such also had the same view. I guess it was the branding and the record companies blatantly pushing certain agendas back then. The Madonna's, th Britneys , the anti Britneys and Madonna's, the anti "pop" yet were pop. I know for example Avril was viewed as more of a "intellegent" popstar with a more darker look and more of a literal rock edge and rebel. And back then popstars also said it how it was, lol its almost like we had either Pepsi or Coca cola, Playstation vs Xbox, Pop vs R&B. And the media, the talent were just as vocal and comments and fueds just carried out and somehow made a bigger momentum , competition and eventually success. And we somehow consumed it all at once but had the entertaining side of " Vs" aspect. I don't know how to put it lol, I guess it's exactly the same now minus the blatant attacks and direct address of fueds. Avril was also seen as "much cooler pop" although not as massively mega as the Britney brand. But she especially was viewed as that after the Hilary/ Britney comments. Those comments were talked about and were televised and spun. Even though the blonde popstars were madly successful too. I guess it's just perspective and portrayal. Wouldn't work nowadays that's for sure. But it worked for ALL parties involved, including the popstars, entertainment outlets, gaining the attention and most of all record labels. Stepfon Posted Saturday at 12:30 PM Posted Saturday at 12:30 PM Hilary NEVER backed down when the girls would come for her, she would pack them up each and every time because they came for her because she was an easy target. 2 1
ChooseyLover Posted Saturday at 12:40 PM Posted Saturday at 12:40 PM These girls came for Hilary for no reason. Good for her that she clapped back. 1
