MoonGoodandHappy Posted January 2 Posted January 2 If you have a friend who calls you every day and talks for hours when you have other things to do, would you be bothered? Have you ever wanted to end a call that was going on too long? How did you handle it?
KFC Posted January 2 Posted January 2 No. If I'm not in the mood to talk I answer to make sure it's not an emergency and then say I have to go to sleep and put the phone down (I work shifts so it's not unusual for me to sleep during the day) 5
ChooseyLover Posted January 2 Posted January 2 (edited) These days I hate text messages, I'm tired of long distance friendships, of getting attached and then they turn to **** and then they feel like they never happened. You could say I'm as Y2K as ever. Call me, beep me, if u wanna reach me. I need somebody with a human touch. Edited January 2 by ChooseyLover 5
Illuminati Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I had that happen with a close friend for a while and while it was fun it was also exhausting too, as it always came at a time when I was doing something else. Then he got in a relationship and now I get a few texts a year if I'm lucky 4
ABeyBraith Posted January 2 Posted January 2 No because I communicate with my friends and set boundaries. If this is something your friend is doing to you, ATRL can't do anything about it. Message your friend and say 'hey girl, I love you but I can't deal with you phoning me every day and talking for hours when I need to get things done. I need my own personal space if that's ok?' That's it. If they react to that badly, they're a bad friend and/or immmature. 1
Hollywood. Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Quite the opposite, I would enjoy it. None of my friends even text me really. Honestly, your never to busy to make time for those you truly care about. One of my closet friends, who did regularly keep contact with me passed away in 2023, and looking back we lost a lot of valuable time because we were "busy." 1
Peroxide Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I used to have a friendship like this. I enjoyed jt because I genuinely enjoyed chatting to him. Over the years it's calmed down a lot and now we call each other maybe three times a week? But the chats times can range from 5 minutes to an hour… It helps he's my best friend so I don't mind.
flower moon Posted January 2 Posted January 2 it would bother the heck outta me tbh. i dont answer calls for the most part and generally dont reply to messages the same day. if someone tried calling me every day, it wouldnt last long 3
Sawk Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I actually prefer calls over texts, but I tell my friend that I can't talk if I'm busy, just be honest and open. 3
Johnny Jacobs Posted January 2 Posted January 2 no. my best friends call me every day even though we talk in texts throughout the day i love them. so i love having them as a part of my day. if you don't want to be in a daily contact with this friend, don't. 2
Bussea Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Yes. I hate talking on the phone and 2 minutes is my limit state your purpose and hang up 1 1
Dolce Vita Posted January 2 Posted January 2 this is why i try not to answer calls from ******* i know will talk my ear off for 2 hours straight and i don't have it in me to shut it down 2
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted January 2 Posted January 2 That would not only bother me but I would consider a red flag and distance myself from them. Completely unncessary and verging on co-dependent.
John Slayne Posted January 2 Posted January 2 yes because I'm busy but I have no problem just saying that tbh...
ariananext Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I don't talk to friends on the phone unless it's an emergency/we need to address something quickly. I text with my best friends almost all day long though. 1
brokee Posted January 2 Posted January 2 All weekdays I won't mind at all actually, A few friends used to call though it be heavy sometimes if you have another work lined up in the evening or at night otherwise I'm fine. As for the weekend, I'm in Do Not Disturb mood with anything
Cheeky Posted January 2 Posted January 2 The same friend everyday for hours? Yes that would bother me and they'd find out fast. I like chatting on the phone with a friend every now and then though. I'd rather have one long call to catch up instead of a bunch of texting.
May Posted January 2 Posted January 2 erm yeah, i have a good amount of friends and we never call. we might call for like 2 mins if we're set to do a big meet-up and need to get some plans organised but thats it
Hurem Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I had a friend who would call me at least twice a day and she'd wanna talk hours. It was exhausting
Khal Posted January 2 Posted January 2 To start with, anyone who's my "friend" will most likely already know my stance on phone calls, so this isn't a scenario that's likely to happen
Quiqui4eva Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Yes, I had to snap on one friend who called me nearly every day to vent and whine about her married boyfriend ignoring her I get burnout talking to any of them more than twice a week, unless it's to plan a hangout
