Taylor Swift dropped from $7M copyright infringement lawsuit

Kimberly Marasco, the Florida artist , filed the lawsuit in April against Taylor and Taylor Swift Productions, Inc., seeking over $7 million in damages.

Marasco's case centers on her claim that Taylor's songs and music videos from Lover, Folklore, Midnights, and TTPD allegedly borrow 'creative elements' directly from her poetry without permission or proper credit.
She cites over a dozen songs she claims contain unique expressions from her poems Fallen From Grace and Dealing with Chronic Illness: Vestibular Neuritis.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge Cannon dismissed Marasco's suit against Taylor without prejudice after she failed to personally serve Taylor with the lawsuit in the court's allotted time frame.

Marasco, representing herself in this case, said "I initially began my lawsuit with just her production company as I knew from the start it would be hard to try and serve her, I've heard of horror stories when it comes to service of process so it wasn't a surprise."

The case against Taylor Swift Productions, Inc., remains active, with a response from the singer's company due by January 21.

I agree. Nobody should be compared to this, I hope Taylor Swift is doing okay

Your obsession with her is very weird and you shouldn't be making fun of a small artist that very clearly inspired your corporate muse

I hope she wins. Clearly Swift is a fan and thought she could get away with this unnoticed.

Stay strong Kimberley.
