As much as some people on here want it, I just don't think it's ever going to happen. Not the way people would think. She's risen above the point where she'll just suddenly fall; she'll have notable commercial power as long as she cares to continue recording music. As for whether another artist will overtake her yet, it certainly doesn't look that way to me. With her 2024 being second only to her own 2023 in terms of pure commercial dominance, I think a couple rerecordings are enough to sustain her as the biggest artist in the world for 2025.

However she's definitely seeing a natural decline in the upcoming years, no artist remains on top all the time. It's impossible and not logical. She was on that path around 2019 until the re-recordings and The Eras came through + pandemic helped her catalogue after Folklore's release

I think that half of the reason PTSD had the reception it did is because the mood and content of the music did not fit with people's perception of her current persona—everyone knew about her being happily in love with her himbo guy so an oversized album of gloomy breakup songs came across as incongruous with her circumstances. They want the album of love songs and they are probably going to get it.

I don't think Taylor will ever have a "downfall". Not until she's in her 40s and her base just naturally erodes from being prime targets for consumption. Even then she'll post numbers that people who aren't her would wish for in a decade or so.

 

I do think it'll be beneficial for her to take 2025 off. As much as I want Rep TV immediately I think it'll be milder response after the year she's had, when it deserves high recognition and spotlight.

I'm far from a Swiftie, and I would love to see other pop girls with different qualities taking over her place cause it's getting really boring, but it's astonishing to me there are people out there who genuinely believe Taylor is struggling or her career is on a steady decline. Her diehard haters live in a different world.

NO. At the very worst case scenario, she will not sell 2M first week for TS12.

I think she'll lose the lesser Eras bandwagon fans naturally as the hype dies down, but she'll never truly falter. 
 

She does need to step it up though with some better music, TTPD was bailed out by "Taylor-Mania" and she only has 2 more re-recordings to inflict upon the GP.
