I don't get the hate for Rebel Heart here. Yeah, the lyrics felt repetitive but the music, choreo, and that pre-chorus. Everything point to a smash hit.  And it's smashing now. Well deserved

This is why it's always important to wait until the second week to even speak on a song's performance. South Korea is so insanely reactive to promo.

You mean "title track" as in the eponymous single? I love NJ and refuse to drag them, but their music is tailor made for the charts and they have the most successful visionary in K-pop (MHJ, the woman behind Gee) behind them. Aespa even doing well at all on the digital charts is a surprise every time and both them and their label are constantly caught off guard by their digital success. They are not in the same plane.

Actual Tokkis are quite possibly the closest fandom to friends that MYs have. The success stans are long gone and don't need whacking - they've moved on to trying to back LSF and ILLIT to save HYBE.

Yeah, Rebel Hearts is just okay to me BUT I have only heard the song twice (the MV and a performance) and the "we are rebels in our hearts, rebels in our hearts" repetitive nonsense did stick in my mind for a couple of days after. I can see it being a hit.

Newjeans no longer exists as a group as of november 29 2024. The girls left their label and left everything behind. They will never release any new music under the Newjeans IP.

 

 

 

 

They took the K-pop world by storm, ruled supreme and disbanded, all in the span of 2 years. They are icons. The giant dump on Hybe on the way out was the cherry on top.

 

 

Now we are waiting for their redebut, under a new agency and with a new name, which should happen in the 1st half of this year.

as a fan, i'm happy for the girls but the only reason i'm listening to rebel heart (which is not much, 34 times only) is because it's a pre-release single

can't wait to dump it an move on to the hopefully real smasha ATTITUDE and the EP

 

p.s. the mv still sucks so bad, STOP trying to be relatable to uglies‬ and serve glamour instead

The way NewJeans were #1 in sales, streams and digitals for ggs in 2024, while at the same time fighting against their billion dollar company that has been trying to sabotage them, and yet we still have one delusional user in here claiming that aespa are bigger than NewJeans
