TedLasso Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Gaga has stayed away from the hip-hop scene for a long time, but at the start of her career it was prominent. She had Flo Rida on her debut album, she made a song with Wale for his album, she even dipped her toes in the genre by herself with Paper Gansta. And for the monsters, who can forget the unreleased songs with Trina (Let Dem Hoes Fight) and Eve (Guess Who's Single). What are your genuine thoughts of The FameGa with her rap features? Did it low key work, or was it another white girl does rap cringe? As a Gaga and rap fan, I low key love revisiting those songs. She sticks out so much but in a weird way it works. Meanwhile you look at the stuff she was making in 2012 with Kendrick or Azalea and it just sounds like… a parody. But back in 2008 there's something about this New York Italian with long blonde bangs going off on a rap song that makes sense lol.
Devin Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago cringe - cake / jewels n drugs iconic - chillin / paper gangsta 6 1
Vixen Eyes Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago i was listening to ARTPOP again last night after not listening to much of Gaga this year, Jewels N Drugs aged like wine, i dont get the hate for the song 2
Kimi Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago make her say and paper gangsta are great, cake, j&d and chillin not so much. trashiness and camp of the fame made it work but theres no need for more of that.
Bimbo Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago It really used to feel natural to her but she lost her cool factor and Jewels n Drugs happened. She really needs to go back to New York and find herself again. 1
Illuminati Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I voted iconic before seeing the OP pic, I HATE that song Starstruck outrapped
Popboi. Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago At the start of her career? It was great, actually open to the sound as she showed she could be versatile for her debut album. On ARTPOP? it gave parody / career suicide / cry for help. 1 1

Pinocchiho Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago TF Gaga was literally a different person… she was so cool, just a weird cold b*tch. As OP mentioned she stuck out on those early collabs but in a good way.
HeavyMetalAura Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago She made it work with that nasally white valley girl tone she used that was clearly inspired by Gwen Stefani. I wouldn't say it was iconic or integral to her brand at the time in any way, but it wasn't cringe either. 1
Rotunda Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago The BET award winner pulled it off well at the beginning of her career. 3

Gladiator Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Her entire essence during The Fame was iconic. Her brand and image captivated me way more than her music (which I enjoyed, but her image is what made me stan her). Edited 19 hours ago by Gladiator 1
robattack332 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Jealous *******, Jealous ******* Don't hate me, Don't hate me
Yayo94 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I pray that in a Brooklyn dive bar sometime in history Lana and Gaga had a white gurl rap battle
Eternium Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Everything during The Fame + Monster was incredible and she could do no wrong. Truly one of the greatest eras of all time. "Paper Gangsta" is probably my favorite Gaga B-side ever. 1
Shimenawa Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It is true that it felt natural during the Fame days and then became a parody during Artpop, idk why..
