Interesting how you decide ignore Cruel Summer and its position above Texas and for a second consecutive year. Try again in another thread

Biggest songs in the UK. I am shocked fortnight wasn't higher...it had a record breaking streaming debut.

What happened there?

UK chart rules literally slash down big debuting songs as they're not likely to make a random increase by week 10 and then they're getting halved on streaming units :toofunny3: same reason we can't be friends also isn't higher, even affected Espresso as it couldn't avoid ACR anymore after the album release boost made 3 consecutive week decline inevitable (same with TEXAS and the CC release boost).

The lack of British artists in the top 10 is insane. What the hell happened to the UK music industry?

ACR doesn't affect year-end charts, they use real numbers for their year-end charts.

Myles, RAYE, Artemas and Sophie at least made it into the top 20 but there clearly was no huge standout British album this year.

The whole top 40 did 600k+, the top 20 did 800k+, top 12 over a million and Stick Season 2 million. So the whole list is actually big hits regardless of spot.

It does affect exposure as they're quickly dropped from the main UK Spotify and Radio playlists though.

Espresso blocked by two of the worst  songs of the year. :sosad:

Shocked Espresso isn't #1. It must have been close.

Also shocked Taste is only #21, but the fact that it had 4 out of 12 months probably hindered it. That was an insane smash for her
