Ariana. Halcyon is a great album but really the only full album of Ellie's I really care for. And even then I prefer Ariana's best album over it.

Ariana stans acting as if her discography is infinitely superior are delulu. In my opinion only her last two albums are solid, above average, projects.

OT: Ellie's first two albums are very strong and I love the Kylie, Britney and Madonna influence. Her last few singles have been so egregiously bad that nobody tuned into her next albums, but maybe I'll give them a spin because she used to be incredible.

You should listen to HTH it's a very easy listen. Synth pop perfection

Ashlee Simpson is a queen, and if it killed her career how did she manage to snatch more than 5 hits after that album got released?

Ellie was on her way to being a hugely successful act but now she pulls less daily streams than Britney Spears. Let me make it clear that I'm not trying to downplay her - I was absolutely rooting for her and her success is still very impressive for a UK act.

 

I'll give HTH a listen. "Easy Lover" was one of my most played songs of 2022 and I was anticipating the album, but I never realized it came out. Which songs would you recommend?

There's no European female act with more daily streams than Ellie except Dua and Adele (in fact the difference is very large e.g. vs Zara larsson, anne marie, Florence, bebe rexha etc.)...and Ellie is after all the European act with the 2nd most certified units in the US behind Adele. If you take away Ava Max's Christmas songs, Ellie is largely outstreaming her daily too.

And also Britney has her Christmas song which gives her a huge boost to her catalogue - but nevertheless comparing ellie to britney is like apples to oranges. britney spears is US based and is the princess of pop with a history of hits and with 9 albums while Ellie only has 5.

But I agree with you, Ellie isn't a MPG or 'that' successful right now but she does have a very impressive catalogue of hits and career like you said.

Well, to be honest, I just picked WCBF because it's her most recent.

Name one Ellie song that you listened to that isn't a hit? Have you listened to "My Blood"?


I can say that Ariana does have a few cute songs like Into You or Baby I which is better than many of Ellie's songs but WCBF better than Lights? Chile
