DevilsRollTheDice Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago The Christmas surge culminated in the biggest day ever on global Spotify (Dec 24) and the 2nd biggest day ever on American Spotify (Dec 25). Given that hundreds of songs experience massive surges during the holiday season, how did Taylor Swift manage to maintain her biggest streaming day ever in the United States? Is Taylor Swift bigger than Christmas in the United States? The numbers appear to suggest that conclusion! 9
aesthetic bih Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago B-b-but TTPD missed year-end list, how can this be?!!11! 1
Space Cowboy Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Yet, both HMHAS and S&S are on track to outstream TTPD sometime halfway next year, despite having only a third of the number of tracks. TTPD clearly lacked longevity, which is inevitable when you release a terrible album. 2 12 1 1 7

Always the standard against artists 10+ years younger than her after two decades of nonstop stomping while her og peers are nowhere to be found. Those albums will also never even come close to catching TTPD in total consumption. Oh, Taybiggestartistofalltime… 4

Maybe cause most of any album's streams come from singles and TTPD only had 2 and both SNS and HMHAS will be on their 5th or so by the time they outstream TTPD? Taylor hasn't done anything to keep the era alive on streaming, not even playlisting when "album tracks" like WILDFLOWER have more playlist reach than either TTPD singles right now, and BOAF has more than the 5 most streamed TTPD songs combined. 3

Excuses. There's no one with a biggest spotify payola than Taylor. But there's only so much payola can achieve. You can't fake real interest or organic appeal forever. TTPD was always destined to fade simply because it's not a good project. 2 2 8

Care to show what you mean by "Spotify payola", cause if you mean how much everything is placed in playlists both have 1.3 billion playlist reach despite Taylor's catalogue being much more extensive. If you mean how disproportionate they are to other metrics, Taylor's align with her pure sales and stadium touring demand, meanwhile Billie… There's so much an era can do without constant push as GP are very fickle, even Chappell and Charli are dropping hard in numbers right now as promotion for both eras stopped. "Destined to fade" and the album is one of TWO to sell more than 2 million units in the US this year and it'll do almost 7 million. It would also be the highest performing album of the year if streams *alone* were counted. That destined to fade narrative has worked out well for OTH for the last twenty years, can't wait to see where it takes you! Edited 16 hours ago by DevilsRollTheDice 1 7

Only on ATRL could someone TRY to drag this, like what? Her release day was literally the biggest day on Spotify in the United States EVER. Christmas couldn't even top it despite hundreds of songs getting MASSIVE boosts. Where's the drag? This website is just bitter over her success as usual. Kinda annoying that Swifties can't post objectively enormous achievements without the fumes. Edited 16 hours ago by DevilsRollTheDice 7
hawx23 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I'm a Swiftie (ish) but this stat is weird. Most people don't listen to Christmas songs on Spotify. You put in on for parties or like coffee shop speakers and stuff but don't listen to it on your own.

Christmas Eve is the biggest day ever on Spotify global and in the US Christmas Day is the 2nd biggest day ever just behind TTPD. You can view the chart for yourself. Regardless of how/why people are listening it's an ABSURDLY enormous day (biggest on global!) on the platform. Taylor overcoming that in the US is unbelievable no matter how you slice it. No other day/release/artist is even remotely close. Edited 16 hours ago by DevilsRollTheDice 3

Lack longevity yet 17 weeks at #1 while others failing to reach #1 in their release week lmao. Edited 15 hours ago by Calvin 1 1

Also, re: longevity, you could remove Taylor's industry defying first week sales and TTPD would STILL be the biggest album of the year by a margin of millions of units. 3

Lol). Just saying for example that most people I know don't listen to Christmas songs on their personal Spotify.
