Digitalism Posted Thursday at 03:02 PM Posted Thursday at 03:02 PM I think it's pretty clear both men and women bodyshame both men and women The distinction in this thread makes no sense 1
Vermillion Posted Thursday at 03:11 PM Posted Thursday at 03:11 PM Justin Timberlake is the wrong example with which to launch an otherwise entirely valid argument. Probably one of the worst examples given the N***legate fallout for now 20 years. I wish this conversation wasn't launched with him because there's a lot of built up resentment towards him outside of his loyal fanbase.

I think its valid Making fun of Justin's anatomy for being and ******* would be the equivalent of being racist towards Nicki Minaj for being a pdf enabler It's just not about them specifically.
Dante Silva Posted Thursday at 03:30 PM Posted Thursday at 03:30 PM Men have been doing it to women for millennia so I kind of feel okay if the tables are turning. Why shouldn't men be exposed to that for as long as women have been by men? 1

ImpressMeMuch Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Being mad about people bodyshaming JT is as bad as the right wings mad about Luigi M killing the UHC ceo because "we should have compassion" 2
makeme Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Posted Thursday at 05:06 PM Not saying its okay its not but I would guess these 2 reasons play into it. 1. Body fat percentage A healthy body fat percentage for women is 25–31%, and for men it's 18–24%. Women tend to have a higher percentage of body fat than men. 2. Men never have children Women gain weight during pregnancy, men don't have that excuse
loveisdead9582 Posted Thursday at 05:50 PM Posted Thursday at 05:50 PM I commented in another thread about the rise of misandry. It's… not really appropriate to do it to men or women but there really some who feel that once you e proven yourself to be a shitty person it no longer matters
Beyonnaise Posted Thursday at 06:38 PM Posted Thursday at 06:38 PM I mean it's one of those things where people are selective about when they consider it ok based on their feelings about the person. Humans are rarely driven by consistently applied principles. Like, most liberal people who think fat shaming is bad either don't mind or laugh when it's done to Trump. A couple of times irl, I've seen a girl I know dragging a douchebag guy and they point to his receding hairline. But then when their guy friend or boyfriend or brother got made fun of for the same thing, they defended them and said it wasn't something they could control nnn.
bad guy Posted Thursday at 06:44 PM Posted Thursday at 06:44 PM (edited) Encouraged where? This is a non-issue in real life. There are plenty of average looking men (and below average) that have relationships with women Edited Thursday at 06:44 PM by bad guy 1
alexrex Posted Thursday at 09:35 PM Posted Thursday at 09:35 PM Body shaming is kind of the lowest way to make fun of someone. No creativity whatsoever. It's just dull and boring. 1
TouchinFree Posted Thursday at 09:37 PM Posted Thursday at 09:37 PM Because feminist ideology believes that men need to be "punished" for the terrible treatment women recieved in the past. Which is unfair. Slowly this will majorly backfire though, and it won't be good. 1

"Fight against it" as if you're throwing fists when all you're doing is…. Stroking your keyboard how about turning off the internet and touching grass I don't feel victimised but it's clear many do.

Justin Timberlake literally destroyed another woman's career because of her boob, chile- The point is it's bizarre and perverted for the media to be examining and commenting on his genitalia. Remove Justin Timberlake from the context and zoom out please, like is critical thinking that difficult?
