TTPD & all of its 30+ songs flopped on year end lists. Why?

Well the critics are always right about everything, so this must be predicating the complete collapse of Taylor's career over the next three to six months :shake:

Yay for merch drops that don't sell out in seconds and the end to congressional hearing-level Ticketmaster clusterfucks  :shake:

Spoiler

Either that, or they're getting caught in the whims of public sentiment swirling around one of the most famous and controversial people alive, and will change their tune on the decade retrospective lists, just as they did with both Red and 1989 at the end of the 2010s. We can readdress this in December 2029, I've got it marked in my calendar :shake:

Coming for someone's depressive episodes on a stan war and talking about reaching a new low. I'm not embarrassed about my depressive episodes and about my depression. I talk about it so maybe I help other people. However, you are just a miserable hater posting on a forum. I hope you get better

I said it was a little bit ironic of you telling me to get a life because I made a handful of negative comments about your favourite artist you have an unhealthy attachment to. Very ironic actually. It was a very nasty comment and you thought you ate with that only to expose yourself as a hypocrite. Try staying on topic next time

Omg wow, you found 9(!!) negative posts I made about Taylor in the past 6 months!! I know you Swifties are good with receipts, but this has to be a new low. And also that's a little ironic telling someone to get a life coming from someone constantly crying about not having a life and suffering from a depression as a result in certain designated threads that I should not name here :toofunny3:

If you are trying to beat the miserable allegations, you're doing a terrible job :rip:

Baby, how many of those 9 albums were competing against Midnights? :suburban:

How did it get nominated in the first place is the better question here

I don't have an unhealthy attachment to anyone. If anything, you're the one with an unhealthy obsession of hating on someone. I don't choose to spend my time that way, but you do what feels most comfortable to you. Now that you've shown your true colors, I'll choose to ignore your posts on this forum cause I don't want to have anything to do with you or what you stand for.

Don't go for personal attacks just because someone spoke negatively about your fave if you are not ready to get clocked back. All I said it was ironic and exposed the hypocrisy. I didn't even say anything negative back. Take several seats and if you can't stay on topic just find a different thread to get angry at.

Most of the albums ahead of it were eligible for a different year. Any more questions?

Maybe it's time to rethink what you stand for if you had to dig someone's several month post history in an attempt to "expose" them and then them to go outside and get a life just because they said something negative about your billionaire fave. Next level gaslighting and hypocrisy here. Notice how I am yet to say anything negative about you

She should've stuck to her tired pen instead of offloading everything to AI

Thread is about Taylor not Katy

Bad vocals, bad melodies, bad production, bad music.

It means we won't see her on your list. :heart2:

Because the album is just not good as much as people deluded themselves into thinking it is.

Yes. Your fave was reposting positive TTPD reviews non stop during the release week. How do you think she feels about not making any reputable year end lists?

Gotta get that last 2024 circle jerk hate thread before the new year

Happens when you release mediocre music. :cm:

To be fair, Gaga's DWAS or Dua's Houdini didn't make it into these lists and ATRL says they are classics.

Being a classic has nothing to do with being good. Like, Pharrell's Happy or Ed Sheeran's Shape of you are classics but they are awful.

Because we're in another Taylor hate train cycle. She's a billionaire on top of it so given that we just had a CEO get murdered and everyone was celebrating, and an election where a billionaire is basically making the US his puppet, her being a billionaire just adds fuel to the fire (even though she's WAY more generous than Elon Musk ever will be)

TTPD will be re-reviewed in several years and people will understand had good it truly is. BRAT is by far the most overrated album of the year - even if you take Taylor out of the equation, you still have albums by Ariana, Billie and Sabrina that were far superior. Diet Pepsi is also one of the worst songs of the year and there's no reason for her to get any acclaim when Espresso, HOT TO GO!, Make You Mine, Bed Chem and 15 Minutes all offer much more to the table with artists that have ACTUAL charisma - and again, that's IF you take Taylor out of the equation because I Can Do It With a Broken Heart ALONE wipes the floor over Diet Pepsi.

The real test of critical reception will be the retrospectives done many years from now. TTPD is not my favorite of her albums, but I think it's quite clear *some* of the reception to the album was independent of the musical output and more a reflection of her cultural fatigue.

Understandable. This is one of her worst albums :suburban:

To be fair it's different kind of people even if all are billionaires, the murdered CEO was responsible for the death of thousands and health segregations of an uncountable amount of people, Elon is a full on piece of ****, so much so that he even has Trump annoyed. Taylor made most of her earning by just... performing.

Is there a wheel of excuses version for Swifties? "Hate cycle" as the reason for TTPD being an awful album is giving next level of delulu

her songs do appear on some lists but they all chose different songs, mostly album cuts. for other artists, they mostly picked singles.

saying grammy is less prestigious than some random lists is so funny tho :ryan3:

I mean, who outside of her cult was going to listen to all of those songs?
