Basically, every country has laws covering second-degree murder of women, but OFC gay men can sometimes exhibit even more misogyny than straight men :rip:

Gay men are not murdering, r*ping, abusing, and systemically disadvantaging women en masse. Gay men definitely have a misogyny problem, but to say that they treat women worse then straight men is reactionary clickbait.

I mean, this is the true answer, though not worded artfully. The darkest forms of misogyny are a result of men asserting power over woman through sex and relationships.

Accounts like OP that spread the "Gay men are worse than straight men" are usually homophobic women that are somehow both feminist and also worship straight men.

Not them acting like gays being mean and superficial is worse than straights being rapists and killers :rip:

Not to say that gay men aren't misogynistic, it's obviously a major problem

I'm so annoyed, because it is really not a major problem. The biggest male feminists will most likely be gay, but because of some individuals, you will claim gays are misogynistic? Okay, I guess I can claim women are homophobic. Now what? Should I stop being outspoken about women's rights?

But how is that tweet proving the point when it's comparing a crime to a critique? I want you to explain me that.

You can still be a huge misogynist, just not a criminal one. If your initial reaction to a woman stating this as her opinion is to say that she is saying it because she's seeking desirability, yes you're a huge misogynist. The majority of rapists being straight males doesn't change that.

Most men are misogynistic by nature, just that straight men can descend into violence as well.

the misogyny off. instead of arguing about how who's the most misogynistic, how about we just stop being hateful towards women regardless if you're raping/killing them or not :deadbanana4:  gay, straight, bi, tri or hi, most men prove that at the end of the day they're still a man. the only difference is the approach.

Well, I don't think it's okay to criticize anyone's appearance, but that's my personal opinion. It should never be compared to whatever straight men do to women.

Oh ok. Thanks for answering.

I'm not sure I understand what point you're making here. It seems like you're misconstruing my post. We're talking about systemic oppression, we all have been socialized to participate in that oppression, regardless of our intentions. Without being aware of how we uphold those societal norms we can't deconstruct them. Obviously it's a spectrum, but even well intended men are misogynistic and well intended straight people are homophobic. Part of being able to dismantle that is identifying the problem. It doesn't mean you stop fighting for progress, it means you're trying to fight smarter by being honest about the issues.

I said in my post that the internet often incentivizes focusing blame on other minority groups who are doing much less harm and that I disagree with that. It doesn't mean minority groups aren't capable of participating in systemic oppression altogether, though. It's also an incredibly individualistic way to look at systemic oppression to focus on yourself only. While I absolutely disagree with the ridiculous framing of that tweet we still have responsibility as a community to deconstruct systemic oppression that benefits us, just like straight women do.

Gays have become such pick-mes and it's going to bite us all in the ass. Watch the next viral tweets have Women say "why would I vote for gay rights when gay men are so misogynistic???" :deadbanana:

I disagree with the comment that gay men are more misogynistic than straight men but what i do agree with is that gay man can also be very misogynistic and there are plenty of them in the community.
