Fleahive Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) What happened to these 5 talented ladies? And why were none of the real main pop girls in the top 5 at that time? Why do Christmas songs dominate in the 2020s but not in the year 2017? (Sia's Christmas songs are why she has so many monthly listeners today) Their overall rankings today: Camila - 46.9 million - #70 Sia - 85.3 million - #11 Selena - 38.8 million - #99 Dua - 63 million #26 Demi - 29.7 million #182 Current female top 12: Edited 13 hours ago by Fleahive 2
Almighty Gaga Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Sia being the last one standing from this list, when she's the one that debuted 30 years ago. Who would've seen it coming

rhaenyra Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Damn, the only one to actually decline is Demi Too bad, so sad 1
Artur Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago So amazing to watch Gaga's transition to the streaming era. Her catalogue aging like wine.
Cheers Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Camila Cabello - the scandal tarnished her image. C,XOXO was a good album though so. Sia - Does she even release music anymore Selena Gomez - Same as Sia. Plus not a huge fanbase. Dua Lipa - I really like her actually but she was kinda always giving Katy Perry. Sabrina Carpenter will be next. Demi Lovato - The GP did her so dirty! Justice 4 Demi!

Who would've seen it coming It's her Christmas album. One of the songs is #10 worldwide with 6 million streams a day. That album accounts for like 40% of her current streams, so she definitely won't be anywhere near the top 20 in January 3
Truth Teller Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago The real surprise here is Selena being this low. She hasn't put out a full album in a minute, but she had 2 recent singles that were on TTH and Calm Down was a huge streaming hit too. This made me go check her recurrent streams and oof they're not good 1
unclefloprry Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Dua's longevity is insane + once Christmas is over she'll be back in the top 10. Rose with all those ML with just 1 song Bruno is the king of payola 1 1

I think her quick lil singles era (2015-2017) didn't serve longevity and those are her biggest hits. I don't go out of my way to listen to them anymore. Instead I'll opt for Selena Gomez and the Scene. Edited 12 hours ago by Fleahive 2
Peak Now Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago 2017 pop music is just very different from current pop music. That tropical house/Latin pop is something you rarely hear these days... Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia really saved her from obscurity!
Cesar Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago music was so bad 2017-2018, the times when you couldnt go into a store or bar without hearing ed sheeran - shape of you or closer by halsey
Witnessed ET Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The decline of Camila has to be studied. She truly was dominating the streaming era at one point and now she can barely even keep up with the newer girlies. im not surprised at Demi and Selena because they had some great years in streaming because of a few big songs, but their recurrente were never that good. Sia is a dark horse ngl, the fact that she's pushing 50 and still has such good recurrentes is impressive. Dua is exactly where I expected her to be after her last album. The list today though>>>>> You can see the power of a strong discography and smash classics with today's list.

Well Katy Perry has almost the same amount of listeners as Dua Lipa right now, and miss Lipa is supposed to be the much younger fresher girlie of the streaming era compared to miss Perry. So good luck to miss Lipa in getting a discography as strong as miss Katy's filled with classics a decade into her career.
Blackout2006 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago WAIT I OPENED THIS THREAD EXPECTING TO READ 2012 OR 2013 WHEN I READ "7 years ago"
Alldeezy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Selena & Demi Hmm sia & demi didn't drop anything this year and Dua and Camila only dropped earlier so I'm guessing that's why they ain't there & Selena only dropped that love on song that we all forgot about
thatsmydemi Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Let's hope 2025 is kind to Demi. She deserves a new hit the most. 30m listeners is not that bad considering she hasn't put out any commercial stuff since 2021.
elincomprendid Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Maybe it's just showing what an useless metric monthly listeners are
