The ranking is by average, based on their year-end lists aggregator from 2020 to 2024.

#1 "Not Like Us", Kendrick Lamar (2024) [215 points, 32 lists] AVG: 6.718
#2 "Girl, so confusing feat. lorde", Charli XCX & Lorde (2024) [139 points, 22 points] AVG: 6.318

#3 "WAP", Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion (2020) [197 points, 33 lists] AVG: 5.969
#4 "BREAK MY SOUL", Beyoncé (2022) [107 points, 18 lists] AVG: 5.944

#5 "Good Luck, Babe!", Chappell Roan (2024) [177 points, 31 lists] AVG: 5.709
#6 "What Was I Made For?", Billie Eilish (2023) [90 points, 16 lists] AVG: 5.625
#7 "I Know The End", Phoebe Bridgers (2020) [94 points, 17 lists] AVG: 5.529

#8 "Boy's a liar Pt. 2", PinkPantheress & Ice Spice (2023) [123 points, 23 lists] AVG: 5.347

#9 "A&W", Lana Del Rey (2023) [137 points, 26 lists] AVG: 5.269

#10 "Espresso", Sabrina Carpenter (2024) [82 points, 16 lists] AVG: 5.125

Note: I opted for an average ranking because the amount of lists considered each year changes throughout the years in study. Year-end lists for 2024 songs are still incoming.

It must be a bad decade if the best song has an average of only 6.718.

we're also not surprised at your disgustingly low music taste but we keep ourselves quiet. sometimes we should think about our takes before sharing them with others.

It isn't. "Good Luck, Babe"! Is way far ahead.

Why are people so triggered by "WAP"?

What you are doing here doesn't work.  Looked at year end rankings and I see songs that ended up higher on the actual list than what was done here.    You are penalizing songs with more listings even though they ended up higher on the actual list.  That is why these placings seem so odd.  Common sense tells you this is inaccurate at best. :rip:

and yes i am fun at parties !

Well, "Not Like Us" wasn't penalized, and it has the most lists of them all lol

Apart from that, AOTY doesn't consider the same publications every year, and it also considers genre-specific lists, so doing an average is way more fair than just adding points.

But if you want a list solely by points, here it is:

#1 "Not Like Us", Kendrick Lamar (2024) [215 points, 32 lists]
#2 "WAP", Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion (2020) [197 points, 33 lists]

#3 "Good Luck, Babe!", Chappell Roan (2024) [177 points, 31 lists]
#4 "Girl, so confusing feat. lorde", Charli XCX & Lorde (2024) [139 points, 22 lists]

#5 "A&W", Lana Del Rey (2023) [137 points, 26 lists]

#6 "Savage (Remix)", Megan Thee Stallion & Beyoncé [128 points, 28 lists]

#7 "Boy's a liar Pt. 2", PinkPantheress & Ice Spice (2023) [123 points, 23 lists]

#8 "Bad Habits", Steve Lacy [123 points, 26 lists]

#9 "People I've Been Sad", Christine And The Queens [122 points, 27 lists]
#10 "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)" [111 points, 28 lists]

I can go into any year using this methodology and find a song ranked lower on the actual chart and show how it will rise above others that are above it.  Doing that across years makes it even worse. :sorry:

@RoseBud

Your methodology might be accurate because it makes for a better list than this, thank you. :clap3:
