2024 is almost over. Now that we've lived through almost five years of the 2020s decade, which one do you think had the best music?

Whatever year Taylor released. So all of them.

I think it's more genre dependent, but 2024 has the most albums I think are great+, so.

2024 for the win.

2020 was an insane year for music. Easily the best so far and brought out many great albums.

2024 is a close second. We got an album from many big, popular artists and some breakout stars. That being said, only a few I consider great albums. A lot of them, while good, mostly fall in the middle of these artists' discographies. They weren't career bests and a lot of them have had better.

2020 and 2024!

There were gems sprinkled throughout 2021-2023 though.

Within my musical interests:

2020 (for pop) > 2023 (for alt) > 2022 (for country) > 2024 > 2021

2023 gave us Raven and BB/Ang3l so I'm going with that but Mariah's The Rarities is a highlight for 2020.

This. I discovered a boat load of amazing indie artists that year from Instagram's algorithim, such as The Sun and Her Scorch album by Dizzy. I still listen to that album on repeat. Folklore was amazing timing too. Well deserved AOTY.

I forgot to mention The Blessing album by Kari Jobe. GODLY timing and absolutely amazing album. Not a single skip.
