Now all the Johnny Depp's connections to Justin makes sense. Or why no one else in the cast even wanted to be around him.

Who the f hired Depp's PR team even before the film premiered? :rip:

He totally expected this lawsuit to happen. Which can only mean 1 thing. :deadbanana4:

He's both

This is a stupid logic. He doesn't look like a white person and he doesn't look like a black person either.

He's mixed. Even personality-wise I'm sure there are influences from both ends but never completely one.

Even Drake refers to himself as mixed (see: his grammys speech)

And even if you're saying he's both, I'm sure you just view him as only black because of social conditioning.

If I saw him in the street not knowing who he was I would 100% he is light-skinned black person like Beyonce or Rihanna

The sexual harassment allegations look like an afterthought to add weight to the suit for the way it heavily focuses on how the press tour backlashed on her with their different approach (somehow it's his fault for that)... idk.

Indeed, that's what this feels like. She's upset it derailed her haircare and liquor line promo that she (not so wisely and insensibly) pushed during the promo cycle for the same film, while that is just one of the few minor things that helped shape negative public perception on her during that time.

hope she gets justice, some insider people were spilling this guy was a whole creep but no one listened/cared because they were busy/having too much fun piling on yet another woman online

The lawsuit lists the demands that were addressed ... she says because of Baldni's conduct. Among those demands -- no more showing nude videos or images of women to Blake, no more mention of Baldoni's alleged previous "*****graphy addiction," no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mentions of cast and crew's genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake's weight, and no further mention of Blake's dead father.

If this is true this guy is a ******* creep wtf :biblio:

also the fact that he got Johnny Depp's team after the allegations surfaced is a major ick

why did nothing come out about this guy when he worked for 7 ******* years as a male lead character and producer on "Jane The Virgin"

if he had such problematic behavior on set after workin for just a few months on this movie ... math is not mathin.

especially since the cast of Jane the Virgin is still very tight to this day and gave him all kinds of lovely words and supports online and showed up at the movie premieres.

surely something would've leaked out back then, even a tiny rumour but not a single peep. nada

to me as far as I know and from what i've read Blake Lively wanted this movie to be her baby and have full creative control once she got casted and became a producer, but Justin Baldoni was appointed director and was the one who started the project in the first place, when they started making the film the creative differences were so big it resulted in a feud and they tried to fire one another by any means necessary and it turned into something very nasty.

for me there's no good or bad guy in this story. and blake lively certainly didn't get cancelled out of thin air, she's a nasty entitled piece of work.

You can be both a white man and a black man at the same time. It's like Mariah Carey. She's white, and she's also black.

Wasn't she a producer and had the rights for the book? Why didn't she fire him? She was in a position of power here. It makes no sense.

And if she thought about money before the well being of the cast and crew she is trash. There's no way to spin this.

Why does the TMZ article try and say the film flopped? It did very well.

She was a producer, but she was brought in later when Justin already secured the rights for the book. So nobody can't fire him since he's ultimately in the position of power here, not her.
Like, do you even read, seriously? :rip:

This won't end well for her. It was her attitude people didn't like. The backlash obviously got to her

The texts in the NYT piece from Justin's PR people are pretty damning, fwiw

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/21/business/media/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-it-ends-with-us.html

Obviously this piece was commissioned by Blake's people to accompany the lawsuit announcement, but the NYT would not be quoting people verbatim if they hadn't seen it.

I can't say I have particularly a positive impression of either of them, but some of y'all took Justin's PR spin and apparently astroturfed hate campaign without question, hook, line,  and sinker :deadbanana4:

Yeah, the fact that she is going forward with this makes me think she has a case.  She's not innocent, but the "backlash" did feel so incredibly over the top and forced.

I always take the side of the female in these arguments but I've been following this story since the start and in this case she can f___ off.

This is pea brain mentality. Why does society act as if women aren't equally capable of being manipulative? Or even exhibiting SA behavior towards men? Especially in this day and age. Anyway. s:wan:

She should've been more thoughtful during the press tour and avoided promoting her hairline or whatever. She could have shown more caution and genuine support for SA victims.

If he is guilty, he should be punished accordingly, though.

She wrecked her own image. Sad about the alleged harassment, but that press tour did no favors to her image. She's probably more upset about the whole fiasco ruining her chances at an Oscar campaign.

I hope that is not your perception of Kesha.

What's "pea brain" behavior is not realizing I believe Blake is an egoist on a major ego trip and possesses the exact qualities you describe.

I noticed this as well. it was extremely successful. One of the biggest successes for those smaller budget films.
