DWAS is on LG7 - Lady Gaga

I mean, of course it would be. To be a member of this forum and be surprised by this, or think that it is a cheap tactic really makes me worry for some of your critical thinking skills.

That's not how it works. A lead single is supposed to leat to an album release - which is what Disease is.

DWAS was released too early thus can't be a lead single, just like how Never really over isn't a lead single, because neither song "lead" to an album release. So you think Celine Dion's My heart will go on is the lead single of her album that she released after the titanic soundtrack, because she added it onto her album too? :rip:

Try better next time. I guess Celine Dion has been embarrassing since the 90s, by your logic

Honey... it's not "my" logic. Look at publications online right now, Disease is literally labelled as SECOND single, RETROACTIVELY.

Celine Dion is not my cup of tea, so I know virtually nothing on her discography. Did she ever say a droplet has NOTHING to do with her next album and then when it became a huge hit stated that "it is a huge part of the album?" If yes, then that's what's embarrassing. xx

Sounds like good advice but it will take a while to shake off the music not the bling mentality. :psyduck: It doesn't seem like the song was planned to be part of the album from the jump.

It probably wasn't, but I think overall when it comes to Gaga, I'm more inclined to view her albums' cohesiveness in terms of lyrical output and overarching themes, rather than just how cohesive the sound is so DWAS might still have a fitting place on the album from that point of view.

In the end, there's always some sort of a ballad that breaks the mold in Gaga albums, excluding Chromatica (which did have Thousand Doves piano version tbf, and I think Gaga herself said that it was always meant to be a piano ballad but then was kind of forced to make it into a dance track, iirc). I'm interested to see how this mishmash of genres is going to pan out for her.

How does that matter. People add last minute songs to their albums all the damn time.....

Well if it fits, do it.

But if it doesn't and you make it fit in an otherwise cohesive album just for streams, then it matters to me as a listener.

Oh this is going to make so many people here mad! I'm ready for the dissertations.

I love this because we have been telling you for months that this was going to happen and it was yall that said Gaga had integrity and wouldn't do it. We are not mad, we knew.

Even if yall win with the inflated numbers yall still lose with the drags for opening your mouths way too soon. The monsters NEVER learn

Well maybe it's single #2, but in a way it's still the lead single... none of that matters though, like who cares when we all know Disease is the lead single? Why are you so upset :toofunny2:  Sorry, but...  you're just upset cuz the song is huge and you want to see Gaga fail

Artists have been doing this for decades, like I gave an example with Celine who is one of the most talented, successful legends of all time. She literally added a soundtrack song to her album, because the song was monumental smash and a classic. Gaga is doing the same thing, with the difference that her song is not soundtrack. And please don't even with the "did she say it's not part of her album"  she recorded it for a MOVIE, like... be serious.

Hmm. Not mad but I don't see how these two songs fit together in the slightest. If it's really as scattered as she's been saying that makes me raise an eye

Gaga won. Shut the hell up. The last thing any sane liddo is checking for is an opinion about their fave's integrity from someone like you 😘

Think of it as a Speechless moment

Speechless was actually made for the album no?

it's siiick to say it doesn't fit the album when you haven't even heard it like...

also, I know it's shocking, but you can still enjoy an album even if it's not very cohesive genre-wise. Some of you panic like you'll literally be forced to dislike it, because one song doesn't fit... breaking news, you can like whatever you wish

OGH already writing the essays :ahh:

The fact DWAS alone could potentially reach 3B streams by the end of next year

I'm very serious when I say she has no artistic integrity whatsoever, and you keep doing mental gymnastics to prove otherwise to me, but I won't change mind. DWAS on the album is proof of what I believe, period. xx

Ngl she's lucky Bruno called her to join in on that song because at least she'll have one smash hit on the album

It probably would have fit more on Bruno's new album since the song is unmistakably his sound but good for her.

You and I and Born this way on the same album MAKE sense, Speechless and Bad Romance on the same album make sense, and so do Disease and DWAS  Fume!

Something your fav hasn't seen in decades and I don't mean Kylie Minogue, but her too!

A rock ballad in a pop/arena rock record and a ballad with dark lyrics in a dark pop record are not that big of a reach. Her late-career HAC'd granny bullshit should have no place in an industrial pop album. Just admit she is making a mistake here and move on, not even you were expecting this

girl then just don't listen if it's such a deal breaker to you

I literally can't imagine myself disliking a whole album ONLY because the genres are not perfectly matching, bffr

Gaga has never done anything like this before, so of course liddos would expect her not to include it?

I'm just enjoying to see her supposed artistic and creative integrity be publicly shredded.

conflicted about how I feel with this news :deadbanana4:

if it's the only rocky song on the album, it might stand out in a not so great way (even though I LOVE IT) but if there's more rockiness throughout, then I could see this potentially working well
