You're right, Gaga adding her huge smash hit to her album is as embarrassing as Katy Perry releasing a feminist anthem produced by Dr. Luke in an effort to capture past glory, instead of trying something new and in the process ruining all her goodwill when people were actually excited for her comeback! 

The fact that Katy ridiculed herself worse than ever doesn't mean I don't get to characterise a move like that from FlopGa as "embarrassing" and "pathetic". She insisted that DWAS has nothing to do with the album, Disease was labelled lead single in her OWN instagram posts and now "DWAS is a huge part of the record". I mean...

Disappointing and now I don't have any expectations for the album. I like both songs but they don't sound like they are part of the same album, at all. 

 

Still excited though but Monsters and Gaga enjoyers like myself are taking a big L me thinks.

There are artists who put songs that aren't even theirs on their studio albums. Why can't Gaga put a smash hit song she has lead credits on, which also happens to not be attached to any other album on her upcoming record?

YES GAGA play the game! Any other artist would have done the exact same thing DWAS being a standalone while being this massive makes no sense, it needs a home. She's a popstar after all, stop holding her to some unreasonable standard. Those fuming just hate that LG7 now already has a billion streams before its release 

 

It sounds like from the interview DWAS will be the final track.

Disease is still the lead single.. u can calm down now   And once you add DWAS onto the record, it does become a huge part of it, simply because of how big of a classic it is shaping up to be! 

 

Any other pop girl would've been releasing ballads after getting a smash like Shallow. Gaga instead pivoted and released a dance pop album. DWAS was the product of talent and passion for music - it smashing and becoming that big is destiny and it forcing its way into LG7 is probably destiny too hihi. There's nothing "desperate" about any of this. It's called KARMA.

As a liddo, I'm pretty disappointed. I don't want her to play the charts game like this, she doesn't need to, even if complete idiotic lowlifes on stan twitter and ATRL call her a flop. But if she is so confident that DWAS should be part of the album now and there's a good place for it without it feeling disjointed... I guess we shall see how that pans out. I'd like to trust her that she knows what she is doing.

That's not how it works. A lead single is supposed to leat to an album release - which is what Disease is. 

DWAS was released too early thus can't be a lead single, just like how Never really over isn't a lead single, because neither song "lead" to an album release. So you think Celine Dion's My heart will go on is the lead single of her album that she released after the titanic soundtrack, because she added it onto her album too?  

 

Try better next time. I guess Celine Dion has been embarrassing since the 90s, by your logic
