When was this ever promoted as someone elses single, Gaga has always been the lead artist its on her label also. You just want to be mad lol

So you can wholeheartedly say you believe this was always a single for LG7?

Struggling to see how the album is cohesive at all with DWAS, Disease, and Gesaffelstein production :chick1:

As she freaking should!

Interscope took the risk so it should completely be on the record as long as it fits.

What they need to do next is guarantee that the next solo Gaga song on the album is also a sizeable hit, so you guys can stfu.

and it won't (be a hit), so we won't (stfu)

not OGHs suddenly caring about LG7's album cohesion. :lmao:

This was smart of her to do imo. Standalone singles only work if there is no plans to release an album for a length period of time or to test the waters if this is a direction an artist wants to go. Considering both Gaga and Bruno benefited from DWAS. It makes sense for Gaga to use this song for her album.

Bruno Mars saved Lady Gaga's career

He's also the only great thing on Rosé album.

The power :jonny5:

The girls here acting like DWAS was always meant to be the lead when this exists:

LG7 FIRST single

And how do you even reconcile the two when DWAS is a basic ballad and the rest of the album is hinting at a dark pop extravaganza? I know her label is embarrassed for her :rip:

tacked it at the end of the album bc it didn't fit anywhere on the original tracklist😭 where is the artistic integrity…

Oh wow the LG7 lead single is one of the biggest songs of the 2020s.

I love the organic switch up!

from: "Nah, it's just a standalone song to keep the monster fed while they wait for LG7"

to: "Of course! It was the missing piece! It's the song that tides everything together! I was waiting for it"

Again, nothing wrong! But she should keep her mouth shut from the beginning... now the real reasons are sooo transparent that it's laughable :bibliahh:

A lot of us Gaga fans always assumed DWAS was released too keep interscope happy  case the rest of LG7 singles flopped. I mean we knew the rest of singles were going to be risky and less gp friendly like Disease.

We been knew this would happen, wish Knee/Will was a sneaky rat and did this with S&S on Britney Jean too, the album would still suck but it would have been certified. :cm:

This is a bit cheap of a move for someone of her caliber but I can't fault her for it. It's the smart thing to do. I would probably do the same if I was in her/her record label's shoes lbr.

Saw this on twitter first, and what do you know, a thread on ATRL with 200+ posts :dies:

Anyways, at least Ga has the option to add a HIT to her album :ryan3:

This just proves that Gaga expected JFAD, Harlequin and Disease to succeed, which makes the inclusion of DWAS more embarrassing, she's still chart obsessed after all these years, zero artistic integrity :gaycat6:

Am I allowed to critique that?

Yup, we're all witness to some very valid critique that you have been attempting to pass in 22 posts (and counting) in the thread. Damn ma, is it that serious? :deadbanana:

Careful babe, else you might choke on your own fumes. Wouldn't you want to Die With A Smile, at least, and not a lung Disease?

I'm saying nothing more than other users in the thread babe.

Based on her recent single performances, it's clear the audience wants more DWAS Gaga then Disease Gaga (though I love Disease).

I'm quite interested to see the album as a whole though. :duca:

We are talking about the same artist, and those things are not mutually exclusive. She put out a record with songs she knew would not be hits BECAUSE she had an album coming out, and both her and the label believed would smash because of the hype of DWAS and JFAD.

Am I allowed to critique that? Only stupid people don't question things.

You're allowed to critique it but also realize how dumb it is that you have higher standards from her than her stans do — and higher standards for her compared to every other pop star. Even Madonna and Celine did this. Why is that?

she has always saved herself from a flop era narrative in some way
