If the only other option is it ends up being sold to Meta, Elon, or some other Western billionaire/company, I'd rather it just stay shut down, as devastating as that is. I honestly think it wouldn't be what it is under US ownership.

 

It will be missed immensely. The level of community and quality of its algorithm has never been seen in social media before and may never be seen again.

 

From a music perspective, I have to wonder if this will lead to this decade's big shift in the music industry (think the shift from the physical to digital era in the 2000s and the digital to streaming era in the 2010s).

Trump can literally just issue an executive order giving guidance to the relevant government agency to not issue fines to Apple + Google for "breaking the law" of keeping the app in their play stores. 

 

The greatest strength of Trump despite being a far-right fascist is that he's simply an extremely agile politician. We've witnessed the last 8 years be Democrats repeatedly try to box in Trump into a certain framing that he just pivots out of and which Democrats cannot as quickly switch from themselves.

 

There's currently no leading Democratic figure who enjoys winning as much as Trump is more committed to winning than any ideological position.
