The Pro- Palestinian support had hundreds of billions of engagement on there, all being led by young people. It was the greatest shift in political narrative on Israel in history. Many Americans did not know the history of Zionist, the stronghold it has on Western governments, AIPAC owning elected officials, etc. The TikTok content creators and Palestinians on the platform blew up legacy media's propaganda on Israel and the inner workings of Western governments compliance on mass slaughter along political lines. TikTok skews younger, much younger. The youth demographic are the most sought after bloc in elections. It sets a precedent for a party's longterm grip on national power and influence. Reddit, Twitter, and IG does not have the pull TikTok does with young people. It's literally Gen Z/Gen Alpha/Young Millenial search engine and information database. People see the dancing and comedic videos, and brand it as brainrot and superficial. In actuality, it has wide intellectual reach for his users. It has high discourse ratios between content creators and their followers. Coupled that with It's algorithm - no other platform comes close. TikTok is a threat not because of China spreading misinformation or stealing data, it's a threat because the algorithm and the app framework is highly efficient for creators to spread their message and discourse there is super agile. They are able to make political/intellectual/historical discussions digestible for young people. I genuinely do not know what's so hard to understand when the facts of this case is widely known. What exactly are you having trouble figuring out? It's 100% brainrot and all the fake tik Tok psychologists and political commentators won't change that. but is it a threat to us national security? Nah. 1

He was in his bathroom crying, saying his entire family died and he wanted to make the video, so others knew that he exists. Other than the economic value of TikTok, it is used for community. So many disabled individuals gained a voice from it. I truly do not know how the government didn't see this coming. After the Luigi situation, this ban is backfiring hard. These young people believe that have something tangible to lose. It's what happens when governments govern for the rich and powerful and leave normie men to fend for themselves. The people eventually finds other vessels to put their faith into. 1

(I never heard before the Nikki Haley quote of "for every 30 minutes a user spends on TikTok, they become 17% more antisemitic" lfgnbkjfgn) A speed-run of the dates and timeline cited below: August 2020 - Trump signs EO ordering ByteDance to divest from TT in 45 days citing natural security concerns October 2020 - Federal judge grants ByteDance's preliminary injunction delaying Trump's EO from taking effect November 2020 - Joe Biden defeats Donald Trump in the presidential election -- January 2021 - Joe Biden takes office June 2021 - Joe Biden signs EO effectively undoing Trump's original EO ordering ByteDance to divest from TikTok --- October 2023 - 10/07 and Israel invasion into Gaza occurs November 2023 - Audio is leaked of ADL head saying Israel has an optics problem on TikTok and something needs to be done to address it November 2023 - Republican candidates at the Trump-free primary debate call for banning TikTok, citing false study by a Zionist tech executive claiming TikTok fuels antisemitism in the US December 2023 - 40+ tech executives send letter to the CEO of TikTok over alleged antisemitism on the platform and the popularity of pro-Palestinian videos --- March 2024 - Rep. Mike Gallagher (R) (WI-8) introduces legislation H.R. 7521 claiming ByteDance poses a security risk to American national security. This legislation is written with the help of Jacob Helberg, a self-identified Zionist and consultant for the Peter Thiel-owned defense contractor Palantir. March 2024 - Jewish Federations of North America endorse H.R. 7521, calling for its passing, claiming TikTok proliferates antisemitism as a platform March 2024 - H.R. 7521 is passed in the House with bipartisan support (Yes - 155 D, 197 R, No - 50 D, 15 R). April 2024 - Senate passes their version of H.R. 7521 and the bill is signed into law the next day by Joe Biden. April 2024 - Rep. Mike Gallagher resigns from the House as a representative. May 2024 - Rep. Mike Gallagher announces he will be the new executive Head of Defense for weapons contractor Palantir. May 2024 - Sen. Mitt Romney at a forum with the McCain Institute featuring Sec. of State Anthony Blinken attributes the fast pace passing of the bill to force ByteDance to divest from TikTok to the "overwhelming amount of pro-Palestinian videos on the platform" and why the idea to ban it was so popular in Congress. Ngl, I thought the whole "They're banning TikTok because of Israel" theory was far-fatched (I thought it was "just" Sinophobia, a la Nipponophobia in the 80s), but seeing the timeline layed out like this is eye-opening. 2
