Vermillion Posted Sunday at 07:23 PM Author Posted Sunday at 07:23 PM The screengrabs are from Politico's newsletter that's a staple on the Hill. I can look for a URL but seeing as my intentions here are going to be questioned regardless I'm not going to bother. This is literally in the OP but I guess we're going to pretend that this is "muddled", whatever the **** that means. https://x.com/clemferguson/status/1880857184478879911 2 1
CamCam Posted Sunday at 07:25 PM Posted Sunday at 07:25 PM (edited) Don't get me wrong, I enjoy TikTok & have found a lot of entertainment & resourceful content on the app, but Shou coming through with the blatant PR for the same person who introduced this ban in the first place is absolutely corny. The amount of people I'm seeing fall for this & sing praises for Trump just gives me so little hope for what's to come, but thank goodness there are a considerable number of others still calling it out for the fakery this is. Peak Now Posted Sunday at 07:27 PM Posted Sunday at 07:27 PM Thoughts on three of the biggest social media sites in the US kowtowing towards Trump?

We're entering semantics of "BUT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!! IT *SHOULD* BE TRUMP'S FAULT!! HE *SHOULD* BE BLAMED!! THIS ISN'T HOW RULES WORK!!". Evergreen. 2 7
Relampago. Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM We're still making this about Republicans vs Democrats and who did what now when both parties wanted it banned and now they suddenly want it to stay? When Republicans and Democrats suddenly flip flop to agreeing with one another, does that not raise red flags for anyone? Maybe you could argue it's because both parties are vying for popularity, but let's be honest, if Democrats cared about being popular they wouldn't have done half the things they've done in the past 4 years. 5 1
Fleahive Posted Sunday at 07:35 PM Posted Sunday at 07:35 PM Have yall dragged J*mes Charles yet for headlining the "go trump" narrative?
Komet Posted Sunday at 07:36 PM Posted Sunday at 07:36 PM watching the supposed leftists hype up a conservative authoritarian plutocrat just so they can stick it to the democratic party has been a kii it's really over for america huh 5
GiselleBeyince Posted Sunday at 07:36 PM Posted Sunday at 07:36 PM Twitter is cooking Chris Murphy, US senate Democrat, for his tweet on TikTok. He was another one of the politicians that said it should be banned bc of the anti Israel rhetoric. 2

Gives me a little hope More people should. I cannot stand most of the disputes going on over this. I love to lash a Democrat and I love calling out Republican hypocrisy, but people treating Tiktok like a benign and wholesome entity is just awful. Especially after whatever backend deal Trump cooked up. As AI ramps up and powered with Tiktok's lovely algorithm, I cannot WAIT to see where we go from here. And yeah, I do think Tiktok going is by far a net good for society. I'm so sorry to those who make a living off the app, but that's the same argument people use to justify bending over for miners and frackers in PA every election season, while our Earth cooks us alive. Some things shouldn't have been created and shouldn't exist. 6

Why is Tiktok the only problem? Why does this matter after Israel basically already accomplished its goals and the ceasefire is going through? Why are we not asking ourselves these questions instead of forming narratives to support our own beliefs? Edited Sunday at 07:41 PM by Relampago. 3

Some things shouldn't have been created and shouldn't exist. Okay, but brainrot apps still exist. Insta Reels, YouTube Shorts, you name it. This isn't like abolishing mining. It's like closing one specific mine because the miners keep saying mean things about the governor, and forcing the owner to sell it to one of the governor's friends.
