When her next film role isn't as well received as wicked she'll come back to music. But honestly I don't blame her, I'd rather take the multi-million dollar pay day for a few months of filming as opposed to writing, recording, and promoting an album for essentially pennies or a grueling tour schedule.

it's a shame because I was looking forward to that "mini tour" she teased a while ago. I thought she could do a limited-run, 8- or 10-show stadium tour in the US.

 

she should do whatever feels right for her, though. can't blame her for wanting to pursue acting with the praise she's rightfully received as of late.

Some fans are overreacting, though. It's not like she'll completely disappear—quite the opposite, actually. She'll promote her future acting gigs, even if they're indie or something like that, because her name will now bring attention, especially after the Wicked success and a potential Oscar nomination.

 

I doubt her future album releases will have a Wicked-like album rollout anyway. Plus, I'm sure she'll perform on Broadway someday, so fans will still have the chance to see her live.
