I just don't like her at all and never have. She has always rubbed me the wrong way. I feel frustrated just looking at her. She annoys me so much. She can't sing, can't dance, can't write songs, can't sell albums, can't do anything. What is she good for exactly?

 

With that said, I'm trying to come around on her and have some empathy because this isn't normal but I'm finding it to be incredibly difficult. I don't like anything about her. I completely understand why sweet angel Kesha and Lady Gaga dislike her as I feel the same

she has always reminded me of the popular girl at high school trying to be a "weird" art kid.
it's all felt insincere, saccharine, and irreverent in a way that wasn't charming. that's all.

Because she's 40 and her music doesn't mature or evolve like her fans do. The party girl vibe works in your 20s but maybe not approaching 50.

She's getting roasted for going back to DrLuke even though he raped Kesha (who she claimed was a friend) and made Lady Gaga have a mental breakdown. Her last two albums were good, so crawling back to him in hopes of getting a commercial hit looked desperate and bad. 

 

She should go back to making alt.rock music. OOTB's is one of the best albums of all time. Her Christian music is pretty good too.

You may be overthinking it. She's pretty and churned out bonafide pop smashes/classics for years.

I remember at the 2011 VMA's they accused Katy Perry of copying Lady Gaga.

 

The problem I have with Katy is that she was a trend chaser. Her 2008 album was a Lily Allen copy, then she went and became the anti-Lady Gaga with Teenage Dream. Then we had some Lorde and indie inspired songs for the "PRISM" album(for people claiming that I am reaching about the Lorde copy/ Max Martin heard "Royals" before it was mainstream according to Lorde).

 

Katy was too reliant on Dr. Luke, but now it feels like Dr. Luke has lost his touch? Katy and Dr. Luke should have continued to be shameless and instead copy Chapell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter style of music.
