BlahBlahBlah Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Charli's sophomore album, SUCKER, was released 10 years ago today on December 15th, 2014. Often considered before BRAT to be her breakthrough album, it contained the Fault In Our Stars soundtrack hit and lead single "Boom Clap," a top 10 hit in the US. Other singles included "Break The Rules" (minor hit peaking at 91), "Doing It" with the one and only FIRO, and "Famous". The album opened with 28K on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #28, and reached #15 with 5K copies in the UK. Definitely not a favorite for most Charli fans, but it was an interesting departure from her debut and she very much suited the pop punk sound though never to revisit it again. 1

liammmmacbtw Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 SUCKER walked so BRAT could run, i'll just say that right now! Also never forget the original scrapped punk album Seeing her do this live on the Jack+Charli Do America Tour... i'll never forget it! 1
pavi Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) Lovely memories of this! We actually need her to make a cute hyperpop rework EP of some of these songs to celebrate it anniversary sometime tbh. Imagine the title track in her current sound Edited December 15, 2024 by pavi 1
Lord Gaga Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 By far her worst album but doing it was a cute bop 1
prézli Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 It came at the perfect time as she was 22. I'm still waiting for that punk album, though.
Ponzi Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 It's her worst album but even then, it's cute and it has a few gems. I looooove Breaking Up.
Julia Fox Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 This album had me on a chokehold and to see her being everywhere after stanning her during the True Romance era was such a fun and exciting thing as a fan. I know she kind of hates it but it's a very good pop rock album for me. It's catchy, it has attitude and it's a very easy listening. Body Of My Own, Breaking Up, Boom Clap Doing It, SUCKER, Break The Rules and Need Ur Luv are pure pop masterclass! Excellent bangers 1
halcyonday Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 the world is not ready for her 3rd semi popular era in 2034 1 1 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Her best album. Fight me Need ur luv, caught in the middle and famous is top 5 in her discography
