I'm genuinely a little surprised by two things. First is Good Luck, Babe being so high - not that I mind, like it's good.

 

But second and more importantly, the deservedly MASSIVE lead Brat has on everything else  Charli finally getting her flowers, we love to see it

Why even bother to rank it separately? It's an additive experience - the combined version of the album rises from best of the year and one of the best of all time to something genuinely transformative and singular. I can't even imagine the two experiences separately anymore - one version informs the other.

But no surprises overall. Cowboy Carter was #6 last time I checked which was a surprise. Glad it has risen to #2. Now if only Billie could ascend to #3,  that would make a perfect Top 3.

BRAT and Not Like Us truly the biggest moments of 2024.  Well done to Charli and Kendrick for the amazing year they've had. Next up: BRAT AOTY win and Kendrick SuperBowl!

The critics got it right. Billie, Beyoncé, and Charli had the best pop girl albums this year, regardless of streams or sales.

The Cures album did nothing for me either. Doesn't feel like a good representation of this year of music but there's picks I expected.
