What is the truth about Argentina?

I keep reading conflicting reports about how well/bad the country is doing under Milei… what is the truth political/economic ladies?

The country is improving in macroeconomic terms, supposedly, but it's leaving a lot of people behind in the process. Any sign of general growth is at the cost of a vulnerable group. His government is a direct attack against education, science, senior citizens and any other group that would generally be of interest to the state.

Those two posts are correct, and it's the perfect example of right wing economic policy. He improved the economy for the government and big business, but poor people are the ones who pay the price.

Things are very expensive there. For real

Let's see if he's able to lower the prices

Both things are true. The country was not going to be fixed in 1 year.

But the thing is under the previous government poverty was still like 46% but inflation was at 15% every month and they were not doing anything to change it

Now poverty is already going back to that 46% but inflation is at 2.4% a month

Well Milei will dollarise Argentina - literally selling the country to Uncle Sam. It's not gonna end well.

the second part is quite hard tho. I fear y'all get out of this situation the 00's and the 20's have been very difficult in Argentina.

I went there (bsas) in 2022 and 2023 and it's such a cool place to live.

It's pretty clear the economy will keep on being stable under him.

Keep the downvotes comming that way it will be funnier when I bump this thread in a few years.

I encourage people to also read about Hedge Fund manager Paul Singer of Elliot Management, and others which preyed on Argentina's economic crisis….

Two things can be true. What's odd is that they're claiming fiscal superplus yet not a single improvement in quality of life has been made for the population. Health, education and science are being defunded and not a single road has been repavemented.

On top of that this hard right government has officials posting pictures of rainbow flags on fire. And misogynistic rethoric.

This bunch of clowns made an entire campaign on 'you leftist will have to run' and now that the left stopped the love beats hate speech and starting reacting in the same violent way, the right is shittin their pants cause they finally learnt that real life isnt twitter and sayin vile **** will get you punched in the face.

On top of that a huge corruption case is happening in the senate after a senator got caught with blood money they got him to approve a special law that granted Milei special faculties lol. A shitshow all around.

Only thing Milei and these bunch of morons are doing is paving the way for a Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to pull 80% on next elections 🤡

Hopefully they dont sell all the countrys resources to Elon for 2 bucks as theyre planning

Poverty down to 38% already on the new report for this trimester.

I didn't even vote for him but at this point you have a Lali fan not to see that things are at least stable

Things are really expensive there. Some of friends of mine went there for tourism few months/weeks and go and they all got shocked at how everything is utterly pricey and expensive, especially food and clothes.

It's so bad that even Pope Francis won't step foot in his homeland.

well I'm no expert but businesses doing well =/= the average person doing well. so yes the country is doing well if a you're corporate shill or no the country is doing badly if you care about the actual workers living a half decent life. merry christimas.
