Solaria Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago And I'm not talking necessarily about an artist that the same sound/image as her, but who will be the female artist to be a generational behemoth like Madonna was till 2008, and what Taylor has been since and now? Has that artist already had her breakthrough/are they established, is she not here yet, or has she not even been born yet?
Loca Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's hard to say because there's not really much of a pattern between Madge and Swift (other than being white) to see what it takes. I don't think we heard of her yet.
JO1s Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I mean at this point madonnna didn't really have an heir in her career either.

Britney was definitely gonna be the next big thing and she ruled the 2000s with an iron fist, especially culturally. What happend after that kind of derailed her career but that's mostly due to things out of her control obviously. 8 minutes ago, Arrows said: It's Billie imo 7 minutes ago, Dear Reader said: Billie or Chappell I'd agree but Liv is much better at building distinct eras and at fan engagement than Billie is which ultimately is the key to a long, blockbuster career.
Dear Reader Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Just now, Solaria said: I'd agree but Liv is much better at building distinct eras and at fan engagement than Billie is which ultimately is the key to a long, blockbuster career. That's also very true, Olivia is building a fandom and a long term relationship with her fans, she's mimicking Taylor on a lot of things. I feel that Billie has got the GP side though, I know a lot of people that are not fans of pop music but are fans of Billie for example. Chappell could be a wildcard, depending on her next eras.
DevilsRollTheDice Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don't think we've seen her yet but out of the current crop I'd pick Billie. Most end-to-end control and involvement on her image/career which is a commonality between Taylor and Madonna.
MattieB Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) A basic yt girl with painfully mediocre same-sounding type music who's the darling of America? Not sure, we live to see Also madonna had that many sons because she experimented a lot and succeeded, also a lot, during times where women were supposed to be safe Edited 2 hours ago by MattieB 4
punisher Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago i want it to be olivia but it will probably be sabrina i think billie will thrive in a different way
Klein Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Olivia is definitely the most obvious Taylor print on the new generation. 2
BlahBlahBlah Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Wdym we have already have FIRO Edited 2 hours ago by BlahBlahBlah
Spicy Pisces Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I can see something like this happening to Olivia in the long run if her career and fan interaction are consistently on an upward trajectory like Taylor's was. 1
byzantium Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Hard to determine 19 years into Madonna's career it was 2002 and we probably would've said Britney. 30 years into Madonna's career in 2013 we probably would've said Gaga. it will be maybe 20 more years to really see where the industry goes. 1

Feanor Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Taylor debuted 23 years after Madonna. We haven't seen Taylor's true "heir apparent" yet.
hawx23 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Billie or Olivia. One key thing about Olivia is — Taylor writes songs that can appeal to anyone, young and old, etc. Her music is non-generational. Billie has such specific sounds and more risqué topics (eg LUNCH) so my parents for example would not listen to her, but they've listened to traitor or drivers license. 1
Raphy23 Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago I wouldve said Olivia, but she seems to not be about the celebrity life. And sort of disappears when not releasing music which is very valid. Taylor can do that now that she's already massive, but in 2013 she was everywhere in the tabloids. Olivia gives me a very guarded vibe, like I dont really know her, while Taylor had that special thing of making you feel like she knows you and your almost like one of her friends. Idk it's weird, whoever can capture that same relationship with fans. Maybe Sabrina? 1

JoJo Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago As of now, Billie. However, Olivia definitely has the potential. She's already selling out stadiums for her GUTS (spilled) tour and will likely go on a stadium tour for her next album. Billie has no interest in that.
