BlahBlahBlah Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago A little over a year later since its release, does The Loveliest Time finally outdo the album widely considered to be Carly Rae Jepsen's magnum opus? Personally, I am partial to TLT and believe it has surpassed her work on pop bible E•MO•TION with masterpieces like Kollage, Psychedelic Switch, and Kamikaze.
Illuminati Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I feel quite equally about both but I guess it's Emotion. If you combined The Loneliest Time and The Loveliest Time vs Emotion and Emotion side B then it would be the TLT I'm STILL obese with Kamikaze and Talking To Yourself 1
Saint James Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago both of TLT have too many fillers but she always gets a pass from pop fans i think Dedicated is holding up as her best album 2
Haze Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I think Emotion just captured a Moment, perhaps the beginning of a wave of poptimism, when even the most critical indie outlets had to admit how infectious it was. For that, it'll always hold a special place. As for the actual quality, I think Carly is perhaps one of the most consistent girlies out there. Always some seriously great highlights, always some songs I could do without. 1
glitch Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Her most recent music is much better than Emotion imo. I didn't listen to that album when it came out so it doesn't hold the same fond memories for me that it does for other pop fans. It's good but I think both parts of the LTL sound much more mature 1
ChristerD Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Both are excellent, but Emotion stands unmatched. Those singles are truly unbeatable.
kharijthedog Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I'm in the minority that thinks her recent output is better than E•MO•TION, so I'm gonna go with The Loveliest Time. I do think her next album is shaping up to be her next magnum opus since it feels/sounds like a step forward in artistic growth rather than a sidestep.
Melancholy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) TLT, her albums just kept getting better and better it had been a steady increase in quality Edited 4 hours ago by Melancholy
OrbitNumber1 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Emotion by far. I'd be torn if it was Dedicated, but I think both TLTs are her weakest albums
Musicology Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago My last.fm says: 1. The Loveliest Time 2. Emotion 3. Dedicated side B

Bitter Aging Twink Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Ugh, what a hard question! Her discography is so hard to rank, since there's not a single bad album to her name. I love Emotion, but I think, for me, The Loveliest Time is her best and most expansive work to date. There is so much experimentation in terms of different sounds and genres, and the songwriting is top-tier. Maybe it's recency bias, but Imma rank it in first place. 1. The Loveliest Time 2. Emotion: Side B 3. Emotion 4. The Loneliest Time 5. Dedicated 6. Dedicated: Side B 7. Curiosity (i know this is just an EP, but i love it ) 8. Kiss 9. Tug Of War
Ewan Chaos Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago I'm not quite sure I'll ever rank any of her albums above Emotion, but I will say The Loveliest Time is right beneath it. Emotion > The Loveliest Time > The Loneliest Time > Dedicated > Kiss > Dedicated Side B If I were to slap Emotion Side B somewhere on here it's prob after Dedicated.
perfectillusion204 Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago This is a joke… right? Only one of these albums is critically acclaimed & one of them is a B-sides album with half the tracks being filler. Be serious.
