Selena Gomez: "I might be too old to go back to the Pop-star life"

JLo dropped her debut single in her 30s. She just needs to say it doesn't fulfill her and move on.

She's just making excuses because her musical career is not going the way she wants to and probably thinks it will distract her acting career, that is her focus right now. But she's just telling a bunch of bullshit of course.

I am a fan of her discography since Stars Dance + the iconic singles from The Scene era - her acting not so much, she is awful in Only Murders.  It's kinda funny to me how she takes herself so seriously as an actor when  when placed next to actual  acting legends she is serving afterschool special

i will only accept a retirement from music IF she returns Selena Gomez & the Scene for one last album in the pop/rock vein of Kiss & Tell Qz4uRAU.gif

30's isn't old. People need to stop with this nonsense. First Miley with Used to Be Young, now Selena. :deadbanana2:

Selena's talent has always been having the right ear/eye for things. She attaches herself to the right songs, shows, etc. and is able to ride that to success.

She's been making music since she was a teenager, so while she may not "literally" feel like she's too old to have a successful music career, I think it's realistic that she may no longer think she understands what's "cool" musically.

And if she has other ventures where success is coming more naturally/effortlessly, it makes sense why she'd bow out of the music industry.

this is so interesting cuz i don't think people over the internet give her credits for it.

most of the times her choices aren't predictable too. there's countless predictable roles that she could've done as she has said before that she gets a looot of offerts to teen romcoms and etc.

but instead she did Only Muders in the Building with 2 old dudes and a spanish trans musical Emilia Perez. She truly knows where to put her feet, her career choices are SOO smart. Even Spring Breakers that basically popularized A24. And that was in 2012, it didn't seem to make sense at that time but now 1 decade later with Emilia Perez she is asked about Spring Breakers in basically every interview, cuz the movies "match".

And let's not even talk about how Rare Beauty was created due to how her Lupus made her feel, being vunerable, not hiding her imperfections etc turning into a billionaire brand.

Single Soon and Love On truly made no sense for her career and she may has lost her good ear for hits.

she has done it before with music and i still hope she has 1 more album in her but what u wrote is true and fans should be happy with her career right now cuz it's actually in a veeery good place.

She doesn't have any musical talent (not like that's required to make it in the industry but still lol)

She's marginally better at acting so she should stick to that

Most of her songs weren't even written for her! They were Rihanna, Katy, Britney rejects. :chick3:

Exactly like basically she is a reject collector

Good riddance, not as if she was bringing something to the table., she doesn't write her songs all written by julia , she is a bad performer , i mean stick to acting and even that she needs an acting coach

She makes good music tbh for someone who is so untalented in music. I prefer her music more than most disney girls. But the truth is, she can be acclaimed and respected in the acting industry while she will never get any acclaim in music as she is literally untalented.

her voice SUCKS. She makes good music with that voice so idk.

Good For You is super iconic and cool

It's really sad to think about all the actually talented people who missed out on opportunities because this industry plant kept getting them. She's proving time and time again. She is an untalented, monotone, awkward person who does not deserve fame.

She's more successful entrepreneur and actor. Golden globe nominee and soon to be academy award nominee (not every pop star has that!) and she's worth $1.3 BILLION. Why would she go back being a pop star. Look at Rihanna too.

She's just saying anything because 32 isn't old at all.

Cher was literally in her 50s when she released Believe:rip:

32 is not too old :rip: Most popstars are in their peak during that time

I would love for her to release another album but if she's not feeling it then oh well

The replies in here :rip:

As if yall wouldn't be the FIRST ones to make the worst comments as soon as she does a live performance.

Shes right, her voice isn't her strong suit and it's obvious the criticism gets to her deeply and is what's keeping her from continuing in music.

And she also has a point about age, ageism is a well known disadvantage for women, especially when you started as a teen starlet, so the comparisons to Madonna and Cher are moot points.

Ignore what these twinks scream at ya Selena :clap3:
