Seems like she craves some sort of approval and validation because once she gets major praise in acting that she doesn't usually get in music, she dismisses everything musically related. Like her or not, I think that's pretty sad and I feel for her if it's the case.

saying these things while stanning the blueprint of the avon ladies is truly brave

Y'all do the most with Selena Gomez sometimes but she clearly saw the writing on the wall with Single Soon and Love On that the audience has moved on and she doesn't have the talent/versatility to adapt. So she's bowing out gracefully instead of dealing with an embarrassing inevitable underperforming/flop album. 

 

Film/TV has better career stability longterm and she is finding more success there than in music. She was also never a touring act and is known as a mediocre live performer. She has no financial incentive to continue in music nor did she ever seem passionate about it. Makes sense to focus on acting gigs tbh. She was never a major player in music anyway.
