Bluesky is a flop. No proper real-time coverage/trending headlines to view events/discourse as it unfolds. Just going to end up being as irrelevant as threads

i left twitter as soon as felon bought it cuz i knew it would go down the drain. I attempted to rejoin and it's a disgusting, nasty cess pool of the worst of the worst kinds of people I'd never want to meet, let alone interact with in any capacity.

My Bluesky timeline feels a bit like an echo chamber with facebook mom tier humor but it will balance out. The only thing I don't like is how easy it will make stalking. Everything is public

Literally this. My Twitter account spans back 15 years, it's difficult to just leave that behind regardless of how much Elon is a rat, and the swarms of right wingers on there.

I know it seems like an annoying task to move to another platform but it's what everyone who recognises how dangerous that site has become should do.

 

I'm a bit disheartened to see people in this thread not doing it out of inconvenience essentially. It's a small sacrifice to make in the grand scheme of things.

I use Threads considering more people use that.  Feed quality is significantly higher, no ads yet, and people are generally respectful/nice.

I made a BSKY account almost a month ago and haven't looked back. I will say, it takes about a week to get your core mutuals/followers and create your algorithm but it's worth it. Way more engagement, people are genuinely nicer and less political. I don't even think about twitter anymore unless someone mentions it. Yes, it doesn't have the real time breaking news like twitter does, but you're going to get that anyways from various sites. I think it's worth it!

I switched. It took like a day or two to get my algorithm right, but it's almost as good and rotted as twitter. Sure there are occasional instability issues but the user experience is miles and miles better than the trash that twitter has become. My…side account algorithm is better than twitter actually so that is another great benefit.
