Lana goes viral for coming out as a Republican (?)

During her speech at the Variety Hitmakers event recently, she implied that her and her (Republican and transphobic) husband share same values and morals, which made people question if she has just admitted being - or becoming - a Republican.

Thoughts?

She's made it pretty clear she's not a Trumpie and even had one of her many foot in mouth moments while talking about him :toofunny2:  Who knows what she means in this speech though

She's been exposed as an awful human being multiple times, but wbk that having a big fanbase and the idgaf personality masks that for the stan twitter and the gays. :sistrens:

Can a man change a woman's heart?

Wasn't she staunchly anti-Trump in previous elections, even going so far as to hex him? :deadbanana4:

Her silence this election cycle speaks volumes. What a spineless coward, changing her opinion on something this critical to align with a man.

Question for the culture, the mesh mask, the sudden Southern accent and her cosplaying as a working class Southern white woman , a MAGA wackjob husband, I mean... she's been inching toward it for years. :rip: Sorry this doesn't fit the narrative you wanted for your favorite popstar or whatever.

republican =/= trumpie

as there are many republicans who do not like trump. it's been clear for awhile that she does have republican (and some liberal views) like many people with her background and age so idk why we do this every month :deadbanana2:

Trump did well with Republican voters every election cycle and expanded his share of the Republican vote in 2024. There are like 10 Never Trumper Reps.

She's talking about authenticity rather than other thing, like, her husband doesn't have to put with the Hollywood fake scene. Also, her and all of her other colleagues in the industry are millionaires living in a different reality, this red/blue thing for them is not the same for us, even when they pretend other thing.

Having said that, she has explicitly told way too many times how much she despises Trump, can y'all stop associating her with him :deadbanana:?

+1 to this. Have we not seen how awful the men in Hollywood are? Her husband isn't a gem politically, but I can't imagine her declaring that she aligns with those values in a way such as this.

Maybe it's safe for Taylor to come out as Republican now :gaycat1:

You seem a little bit too obsessed with her to track every one of those things lmao, I couldn't care less, but if you're gonna blame a woman for the actions of a man and imply that 'southern accent = republican', then that's up to you

Everyday I'm more disappointed by her antics, bring the 2016/2017 Lana back

Why would this be surprising? :rip:

I'm wondering how she manages her marriage with a transphobic Trump supporter though.

If I was married to such a narrow minded conservative I wouldn't know what to tell him I guess, everything would end up in constant arguing, but most likely I wouldn't have begun a relationship with him in the first place.

I truly wonder how she can carry on a relationship with someone supporting a person she said she dispises 🤔

american's staunch obsession with people's political alignments are so insane

people have differing viewpoints that exist on a spectrum

aligning yourself solely with a single party lacks any nuance

I love her, but Lana is a privileged rich millionaire, who lives as a privileged rich millionaire. Like..!? What am I missing :rip:

She just portrays herself in such a way for aesthetic. Also I don't believe her husband BS, it's obvious fake and she is just using it for PR and trying to seem edgy. They are not a real marriage. I think she hang out a bit too much with Taylor and Jack Antonoff I'm afraid..

Aligning with someone publicly stating that immigrants eat pets is not a political choice, that's ignorance I'm afraid.

The choice is not between left or right, the choice is between madness and common sense.

I can totally understand the stir and American people worries about the 'political' views of their fellow citizens.
