I like his response tbh

People on Twitter saying that Diddy did this too when these idiots forgot he settled in 24 hours.

I wonder if this gets quickly dropped for Jay-Z is demanding a criminal trial instead.

The thing that really bothers me about his statement regarding this is how he asks "Well why didn't the victim file a criminal case huh???"

It's well known that rape cases are notoriously hard to prosecute criminally, even with evidence. The statute of limitations might also be up to pursue criminal charges anyway. It's such gross victim blaming from him and his team :mazen:

I don't think Jay-Z is an angel by any means, but this lawyer does have quite the dodgy past and I think it's best for the internet to let this play out in court before rushing to defend him or accuse him...but that will never happen.

It's the internet so I agree. But the whole " innocent til proven guilty" angle has gone out the windows in the social media age.

Also i feel Jay is smart enough not to do so I rather believe him shooting someone ( something that has actually happened and he was found guilty of) before this....but anything can happen these days...

Half of Hip Hop media jumping out the window because of this, no nuance at all.

The timing of this… :deadbanana4:

There's absolutely no way this wasn't the product of a frantic phone call tonight :deadbanana4:

Beyonce was way too good for this guy. Anyways, it's never too late to get rid of the baggage :lakitu:

Innocent until proven guilty is the legal standard, it doesn't mean people can't independently come to their own conclusions about someone's innocence or guilt.

Everybody knows he's a horrible person who has done shady things. It's just a matter of time for him to get exposed

Bey needs to divorce his ass. Not only to save her public image, also to protect her children

Especially when it involved Diddy

My comment was more directed at the open mob mentality swinging social media has brought going either direction ( but mostly guilty) than actual independent thought.

There can't be a criminal trial as the statute of limitations in NY is 20 years, and he knows that

People were already suspicious due to his Diddy connection. There was already smoke and now there's a real allegation we know about. False allegations are rare. It's not a mob mentality just because many now believe he is guilty now that more evidence is piling up.

Ok and how does that change what I said?

If theres real smoke to the case, the lawyer will ignore this and keep fighting for a civil suit. If he's afraid that they might actually go through with this cuz he has no backing, the case might get dropped by next week.

There's pics and videos of that event, it shouldn't be too hard to point out where Jay was that night and the then 13 year old ( damn she would be my age by now :deadbanana4:) cuz while tech wasnt to what it was now still was used enough to proved  they both were there.

you think Beyoncé at age 19 was in a room watching Jay Z r*pe a girl ……..

Unfortunately people are that naive. They are millions on TikTok that think she arranged TuPac's murder at the age 14.

I am going to wait to comment further until this case continues further and more evidence is presented, or more allegations come out, but for now just going to say when I saw the news pop up on my feed, I wasn't surprised. JAY is clearly an all-around shady person. He's been accused or done so many variety of horrible things, from alleged fraud, to infidelity, to violent crimes, alleged rape now, etc. It all paints the picture of someone is an all around horrible human being. I am extremely curious how this case further develops, and if what happened is proven true, I hope justice is served.

Do we know it's real tho? The person is anonymous, we have a sketchy lawyer and we don't know the full details yet. You're proving exactly what I'm talking about. Jay has been known for shady business practices and gang related crimes not sexual allegations. Diddy has been known for years and it has been a running joke that became fact. Also the entire industry has connections with Diddy, so him connecting on projects for a decade or so doesn't mean he knew or did things. At the same time like I said Jay has been known for shady things.

Like I agreed with @suburbannature we should wait and see.
