To make this era truly resonate and not feel forced, they needed to pull off something bold and unexpected, similar to the stunts Miley did with Bangerz. The whole vibe of the era felt a little off because Camila's image as the "good girl" didn't match the riskier direction of the album, leaving it feeling a bit disconnected. Still, I'm excited to see what she does next and glad she took a risk with this last album. She faces a lot of unfair scrutiny. I'm excited to see what she does next also, now that she seemingly moved on from her ex to someone new hopefully different kind of songs
