The whole back pain arc is crazy because I too have been struggling with debilitating back pain after years of lifting and one of the books Luigi rated 5 stars on his GoodReads "Back Mechanic" was written by a guy whose exercises I started following just a few days ago.  In fact, my doctors have specifically steered my away from back surgery because it's so risky and so many people end up worse afterward than they started.

 

But I'm still struggling to see the connection between a botched back surgery and shooting the UnitedHealthcare CEO. Like was that the breaking point that made this obviously super privileged guy who probably barely had to struggle with anything his whole life up until that point realize the healthcare industry only cares about profit? Because I think that sentiment is shared even by the right wing, but they come at it more from an anti-modern medicine perspective. I'm glad if nothing else this is leading to some kind of a conversation on healthcare, but I'm much more skeptical of the shooter's intentions than most even if I loathe the role health insurance companies play in this country and even if it's cathartic seeing something be done.
