She has at least twice as many classics as he so I can see why he'd be mad.

Prince was a homophobe  and a misogynist (deeply ironic considering he leeched off of queer culture his entire career). The way he treated legend Sinead O'Connor should be enough to leave him in the past.

nobody in the current pop landscape has ever reach the number of Prince classics except maybe Mariah or Madonna.

No shade to him but Katy and Ed are (in Katy's case, was) dominating pop forces that provided a slew of classics (Katy's were limited to a few songs from 2010-2013) so this seems more like a projection of jealously than anything else :deadbanana2:

I've just seen someone earnestly say that Katy Perry has twice as many classics as Prince, and that he was angry about that.

I need climate change to come and finish each and every single one of us off before Friday.

Not as cringeworthy as when some of them really thought she was singing the intro of this song when it leaked :khalyan:

Prince was a straight, cis man.

Suddenly ATRL likes Ed? Ed was being forced everywhere, Katy not as much as him, but still she was big at the time, both fell off, so he was right.

You sound dense. Prince was quite literally violent towards women. On the other hand, Katy has championed the feminist movement.

Stop this nonsense. Ed released some great radio friendly tunes. He deserved to be everywhere, even if u don't like him

"championed" the feminist movement and worked with her friends rapist - some feminist :deadbanana:

At least she didn't spread rumours of her "fiend" being raped

Were they tho? Both were selling a ton with each single they were releasing back then, it's not like their songs were radio fueled with no sales. That sounds more like jealousy and we know how petty Prince was.
