U know, u could look artists who currently have no Xmas boosting their catalog with a similar long career like Bey and you'll realize there are barely any artists above her: Eminem, Coldplay, Elton John, Queen and Shakira. Aside from Eminem and Coldplay, the other 3 are pulling fairly similar streaming numbers like Beyonce.

 

But of course in order to drag you basically have to tell ur braincells to stop working

I don't understand why some swifties are upset that Beyonce is number 1? Taylor has said many times how Beyonce was an influence in her life. In fact all of top 10 has credited Bey as an influence or as one of the blueprints for a pop star!

 

also Ms. Carter CHANGED the industry release schedule from Tuesdays and Fridays!! Like she really is a huge influence and was in the industry longer than Taylor! Not saying Taylor isn't a game changer, but does make sense why Beyonce is number one!

But she is supposed to be the so-called "biggest poster of the century"

I've never seen my fave dropping out of top 100 since 2022.

Both of them released an album at a very similar time this year. After the album releases, Beyhive opened a thread "Is it the time to stop comparison between Shakira and Beyonce?".

And look, LMYNL is outstreaming Cowboy Carter on a daily basis, just after a few months

Actually, she was never called "biggest popstar of the century" the adjective was "greatest" and greatness isn't about chart positions.

Beyoncé haters love to run around screaming about such things as if they even matter.

 

They love to cry about smoke and mirrors, and yet none of this actually affects the regard people have for Beyoncé. Using streams to infer something other than what they actually mean is the real example of smoke-and-mirrors. Streams don't denote quality. They don't represent skill. They alone don't suggest cultural importance. They don't represent whether or not an artist is respected or seen as excellent. They don't sum up an artist's career achievements. Daily streams simply and solely denote what people are listening to on any given day.

 

And for all this for Beyoncé to still be at #102 as the holiday artists rise, and for there to be only 3 other women above her that are older than her (Shakira, Mariah and Sia, two of whom have Christmas albums)...this isn't really that important of a metric and you can cling to it all you want but it won't change anything but allow you to pretend like you have some fun shade on a forum.

Meanwhile Madonna is out of the Top 200, Whitney is out of the Top 400, Kacey Musgraves (who also released a country album this year and who is currently touring) is out of the Top 500... does this say anything negative about any of them? Absolutely not!
