Into The Void Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I feel some names mentioned did become a big thing. Maybe not huge but relevant enough to be known.
Lady Claire Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Zara unfortunately. So Good was massive and PG was her make it or break it moment... RML and DWBM were underwhelming and then her terrible label just pulled the plug. I still love her and her music but everything went wrong after that. Hailee Steinfeld also was very promising but she kept releasing EPs and was more focused on acting. Kim Petras was never on the verge of becoming a MPG but i wish Republic did her better after Unholy. Releasing IJWAR was... a choice but she kinda won for having historic achievements for a trans artist and won a Grammy after all. 1
JoeAg Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Alessia Cara (Scars to Your Beautiful was cute but Kelly Clarkson would've done it way better like 3 years prior lol) Eliza Doolittle (was supposed to be a fresher Lily Allen vibe) La Roux (girl… In for the Kill should've been just as big as Bulletproof!) JoJo Sara Bareilles (though I'm glad she found her niche with Ingrid Michaelson and Anna Nalick!) Rina Sawayama Kat DeLuna Carly Rae Jepsen Leona Lewis Dev (she was hatin' though so I, too, said "who she?") Sky Ferreira Azealia Banks Jordin Sparks (UGHHHH she deserved to be the second biggest Idol alum after Kelly like !!) Christina Grimmie (RIP queen that golden timbre alone could've gotten her even farther) KT Tunstall (I still think that if she admitted that Suddenly I See was a lesbian love song it would've solidified her a larger fanbase lol) Cassie Tinashe Tove Lo MØ Bridgit Mendler Ava Max Natalia Kills Rye Rye Gayle Hayley Kiyoko 1 1
TiaTamera Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Chance The Rapper Lil Nas X (I think he still has a chance but he needs a COMPLETE rebranding) 1
OrbitNumber1 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 (edited) 3 pages in and not a single mention of Nelly Furtado? I mean, how do you go from one of the best selling albums of the century to basically not charting?? Edited November 27 by OrbitNumber1 3

She was quite big/popular for a few years and I'm not trying to undermine that, I just think she could've remained as big for longer and establish herself as a proper MPG. Also some of her hits didn't get to smash cuz she was releasing too many things like EP then Album etc. I still think Dear future husband could've been much bigger if it was released properly right after AATB smashed etc. Lips are moving could've also been bigger but it was released when DFH was trying to Dark Horse its way into a single. Queen deserved better In the end >>> she failed to pivot into a new sound

He just didn't last because the GP got tired of his stunts, his talent was kinda elusive (what's he good at besides marketing & stunts?) and I guess it's up to the next album to see if he really has a fanbase or not (last album had 22k pure sales but was carried by streaming hits) 1

dumbsparce Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Nick Jonas came to mibd first. He had the built-in audience and the hits early on in his solo career but then he completely flatlined. 2

She became the NEXT BIG THING already with this but she didn't want to continue as far as i remember.

Me alegro por ella, yo creía que iba a quedar en el olvido y que su único "hit" iba a ser Shower . Lemme stream her best song Sola.
thatsmydemi Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Demi during the Tell Me You Love Me era seemed like she was finally about to blow up on the charts with SNS smashing, global hits and an arena tour selling out. Then we all know what happened. 3
Alldeezy Posted Friday at 08:28 AM Posted Friday at 08:28 AM TRS Love Like Woe and Killer got into billboard Hot 100 but idk after that he kinda faded still dropping quality music but not to the public eye. The Veronicas the way untouched became HUGE outside Australia to the point everyone knew the song but then idk what happened? They are still quite big here but worldwide not so much 1
Devin Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM vanessa williams, she had so much potential. 2

prézli Posted yesterday at 11:37 AM Posted yesterday at 11:37 AM Rita Ora is the correct answer. She was supposed to be the next Rihanna. Jay Z went with her to promote her first radio single. 2
