Norman? Yes, of course. Probably her best one

Ocean Blvd? **** no, she has at least 4 albums better than that one (Ultra, Honey, BTD, L4L)

I know that taste is subjective, but damn...LFL??? Sometimes I wonder if y'all have forgotten how Rick and his gay intern almost ruined her career with their production? Maybe nostalgia kicks in for some of y'all a lil bit too much, but just to give y'all a healthy reminder of Lana's work with Rick over the years

- completly ruined Body Electric & every other song he worked on on Paradise

- if Rick had its way, UV was supposed to sound like the West Coast demo (elevator music version)

- muffled and cheap production throughout LFL sounding like 5$ budget & a baked potato on the side

- songs he worked on that didn't live up to the hype after he got axed: TNBAR, Bartender & Yosemite

- he literally gave her 2001 Dido leftover soundscapes for HM and underlayed them with trap beats.

He left her with repetitive, tacky and uninspired ideas, fading in relevance and flopping on the charts.

Jack put her back on track. His musicianship forced her outside of the box, allowing her to mature gracefully, finally her lyrics improved several leagues, Grammy nominations left and right, improving her chart run etc etc.

And yet, ppl are still here mentiniong albums where tacky grandpa Rick Nowels was the main producer.

I'm sick of y'all homosexuals.

Same. But I should know by now that when it comes to music discussions about LDR this type of environments is not the best place to read opinions.

I also do think that LFL isn't a great example, but for me UV stomps every Lana album, at least in terms of production only. I actually love NFR and Ocean Blvd and I for sure think they are among the 3 best works of Lana, but I don't find their production particularly exceptional. Somehow Antonoff still found the way to make it work very well with Lana's voice and lyricism so I think that's where his work shines -- but I'd love to hear an album produced like UV again.

It's crazy bc it had all the makings to be her best album earlier on in the process… I guess we can truly blame G-Eazy and… a certain user in this very thread for the finished product we got :biblionana:
