Riverbank Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Why did this turn into another fight between Katy and Kesha stans again? 11
glitch Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Sorry but calling social media niche and then using...people who still watch live TV as a metric for relevance...the jokes write themselves 5
glitch Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I just had a look at the viewing figures for SNL and they're normally in the 4-6M range, so it's not really like this is a massive decline from the other episodes 1

Gaga (who I love and saw at the Chromatica Ball)'s Chromatica at 36 in 2020. Ariana is only a few spots ahead at 19. 26 is very good for any female artist not named Adele/Beyonce/Taylor 1 1
UnusualBoy Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I mean, was anyone really expecting groundbreaking numbers?

Le Grande Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 I certainly did not expect this thread to be as vicious.
havewemet Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 She was host both host and musical guest whereas usually there are two different people promoting the episode. Really not sure why people are so quick to put Charli down when she's had the best year of her career. 1

Aside from 5H, Thomas and Brett (two of which are country artists), the rest of these people are known in other countries except PRETTYMUCH and Jon McLaughlin who are US born and either are forgotten now or never blew up. Charli is somewhat known but definitely not to an older audience outside Millennials and Gen Z. 1
kayliah Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 I like her but she is a niche artist even with all that push she could not get top 10 hits on the hot 100. She has a following and got some media coverage but it still didnt help her become mainstream like a carpenter or rodrigo. 3
