Passive aggressive roommates; advice on moving out situation?

reading stories like this makes me think that i need more drama in my life

i don't have roomies because my parents pay for my whole rent until i finish my masters but i don't want to miss having a roomie, even if they are evil like this, it's an experience you have to live at least once in your lifetime

that being said, only because of your dog's safety, you should move out asap OP.

You are not on the lease, you just leave. Don't tell them anything and move out.

Said by someone who clearly has never dealt with abusive people. This post is so tone deaf.

Yeah, he rents the house and I have no lease or written agreement. I just know It's getting close to December 1st, and I have not told them yet. But I wanted to be 100 percent In this new apartment, and have It confirmed before I bring It up. But my friends will be here with me If I need help

Hire a moving company to do all the moving for you. This way you're not alone and have witnesses if anything shady happens. Install cameras in your room too as a precaution in case something does happen.

Without even reading the rest, that was your first mistake.

Because why are you moving with people you barely know? It's no joke living with people 24/7, you gotta know in advance if you guys bear with each other on a daily basis.

Sadly was In a desperate situation after a traumatic break up with my ex. I knew him on Instagram for like five years, and we've talked for a while. But he ended up being extremely nasty fast. Have been looking for a place everyday that I can afford that Is roughly the same I'm paying now, or a little more. However thankfully my coworker Is helping, and the place will be seen today

Girl just run. I wouldn't even go back there to grab my things, I'd just get my dog and then pay for a moving company to pack all my **** and take them to my new apartment. This sounds terrifying and I hope you find a better place because no one deserves to live in this fight or flight mode constantly.

Good luck! These people sound absolutely f**king nuts. As suggested by several others, keep someone else with you cause your flatmates sound horrendous. Not a normal experience by any means

So my house key randomly disappeared, and was not In my room today. Had a panic attack looking for It, cause I knew I was gonna be chewed out by my main roommate. Had to leave to go to work with the door unlocked, so he yelled at me and told me he doesn't care If he'll be asleep that If he Is I'm **** out of luck. And that losing the key was on me. Then I randomly got a text from him saying he found It In the kitchen which makes no sense how It got there. I said thank you for finding It, and he said I wasn't looking for It.... I just found It. I feel like they took my key for sure, and the faster I get out the better. Apartment was great, but just waiting on the complex to get It done faster

@MasterXPosed Are you alright? It's been a couple of days.

I'm leaving on the 30th. Roommate knows because he was gonna be working on the day I moved out and drama would have ensued. He told me I owe him an additional $100 for not letting him know sooner. He told him to leave my TV, or something for him to sell If I don't give him the $100 which Is not happening. We never had a verbal or written agreement If I didn't give a two week notice. But I'm out soon

Your roommate is a monster and definitely gets enjoyment from abusive power trips. I'm glad you are getting out of there.

I hope you never find yourself in that kind of power dynamic again. Take care of yourself. Your home should be a place of rest.

I have lived in dorms, halfway houses, rented a room from a man off grindr…

I have lived in my own apartment for a year now and will never have roommates ever again now 💀

Roommates ended up not letting me leave the laundry room as I was doing my final loads before my move tomorrow. Said If I don't pay them the $100 he would escort me out, and throw my stuff out to the lawn. His second roommate then started screaming at me, calling me a dumb fu** and I didn't call them any names. Just said they've been nothing but nasty to me this entire time, and making me walk around eggshells which his response "you didn't follow the rules" I had to call the police, and they said If he does anything to call them. I'm out tomorrow

This is wild, thank god you're getting out of there. Can't you like, leave right now? Or at least make sure you're not by yourself.

Final update!

He made my moving day a nightmare. Kept yelling at me to hurry up, and move out. Friends had to come over to help, and he kept threatening me to give him the house key. I told him I was gonna make two trips, and give him the key on the second trip and he laughed and said he'd lock the top lock on me. Had to call the cops, and they said what he did was Illegal. Plus the drugs, and all. I don't know If he was arrested, as I just threw my stuff In the truck with my friends and left.

But as I was walking out the last time, I threw the key on the floor and slammed the door. He said he hoped our truck crashed, and I gave him the middle finger as I left with a smile on my face.

New roommates put up a stocking for me, and have been nothing but welcoming.
