Bears01 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago This is not about who had the bigger more impressive career. This is entirely about their peak. Vote and discuss!
Pheromosa Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I was going to say here for the mess, but ATRL hates Ms. Jackson so it should be an easy Beyonce sweep.
NewStanner Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I love Bey, but the smashery of Rhythm Nation is one of the biggest peaks of all time 1
Doctor Dick Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Beyoncé's biggest era commercially is IASF but her biggest era culturally is self-titled and Lemonade. So it's split a bit. Janet Jackson peaked commercially and culturally at the same time. But Beyoncé peaked bigger culturally and her stratospheric explosion into icon/legend status is bigger and she is a bigger name now than Janet ever was. Beyoncé as a name and brand is much closer to that of Madonna or Whitney. Beyoncé could do stadiums at a time when most pop acts couldn't and Janet never reached that level. I'll have to give a slight edge to Beyoncé even though I love Janet.
itshyolee Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Janet. Her peak as a star paved the way and inspired a generation of stars that we all stan to this day, with Bey being one. Edited 2 hours ago by itshyolee 1
LegaMyth Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I guess Bey's peak was bigger outside of US, while Janet had a bigger peak in US.
Night Howler Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Do Janet stans realize that outside the anglosphere (95% of the world's population) Janet is either unknown or known just for being someone's sister?
Kimi Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago according to chartmasters I Am Sasha Fierce - 21.9M The Writings On The Wall - 20.3M Dangerously In Love - 19.6M Janet -19.5M So in fact it's Beyonce
Shelter Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 53 minutes ago, NewStanner said: I love Bey, but the smashery of Rhythm Nation is one of the biggest peaks of all time *in the US. That era kinda tanked in the UK and I expect Europe isn't huge either. Only 1 single went top 15. WW it's Beyonce.
Odette Violet Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I would have to go for Bey since I didn't live through Ms. Jackson reign. Halo, Single Ladies and IWAB were massive hits and catapulted the brand Beyonce as a Pop Star globally, are songs that relevant up until this day
chaklux Posted 7 minutes ago Posted 7 minutes ago Worldwide is Bey , US maybe Janet but that's debatable even.
