Bubble Tea Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Her most personal album yet etc. Poor queen, let's just focus on the quality and if it is indeed legendaric, then the hits will follow. But sadly sexism + ageism in the industry does have the odds stacked against her
SchmoodRing Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 If she wants to return back on top she needs to officially released the 3 albums that she scrapped Candyland (Candyland aesthetic and concept) 1. Exodus Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 She honestly hasn't been relevant since 2007 and that's normal for someone who is 55. She's had a huge career with No Doubt and her solo success charting 8 singles in the Top 10. Honestly what's holding her back is her public image. A lot of people were turned off by the whole Blake Shelton thing. If I were her, I'd cash is on the No Doubt sound and highlight her youthful looks. 1
naval23 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 She should be happy she had a #1 album in the 2010s The good sis needs to re-release "Cool" and have a 2025 resurgence ala "Unwritten" 1
XtinaStripped Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 I feel like we all dragged her for the singles and now we've ended up with.. this. *slow clap* 2
faceclef Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 If she really wanted hits she would get with hiphop/rnb producers again which was her winning formula Even pharrell is still chart topping with that new weeknd song so theres really no excuse

GwennyGwenGwen Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 (edited) More like...Interscope shelved her reggae/ska inspired album -> she was fighting to write an album and jkash helped her do that -> she recorded a pop album mostly produced by Cirkuit -> she thought it was to past/hit-chasey so decided she wanted to re-record it with a live band -> Interscope again didn't support her -> she made it happen herself -> ATRL calls a 55 year old woman a flop as if any 55 year old woman does numbers in the US, rather than celebrating that she managed to actually get her record out as rare as that is for a 55 year old woman. americanlife Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 It would be cool if she released an album akin to XCX World, Gwen is perfect for that sound. 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Literally didn't know she had a new album out and I listened to her new songs and they are horrible. Tf happen? Maybe she should hit up Pharrell 1
Movimento Perpétuo Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 Gwen, girl...you don't really need that 1

Woah, I didn't know that this is the 3rd iteration of the album. Do we know what songs were supposed to be on the Cirkut-helmed album?

So it seems it was probably most of the same songs...Circkut worked on Somebody Else's, Bouquet, Pretty, Empty Vase, Late to Bloom, and Swallow My Tears...so assumption is there are Cirkut produced version of all those tracks...And then Jack and Coke produced versions of Purple Irises (solo), Marigolds, and All Your Fault. Reminders was actually from the reggael album, originally produced by Di Genius. Edited November 21, 2024 by GwennyGwenGwen 1
