Doesn't Wicked Part 2 chronologically go right up to the point The Wizard of Oz starts? Billie Burke was 54 when she played the original Glinda in The Wizard of Oz. So Glinda being played by a 20 year old actress has never really been the precedent on or off Broadway. I believe most of the main cast in Wicked is older than Ariana too, so a cast that's older than the college aged characters portrayed was clearly an intentional choice. With fantasy especially, I think you have more room to suspend disbelief.

Actually she is likely to get it based on the race at this point. It's unlikely any other major contenders are going to show up at this point so she has a strong chance. These are experts predictions based on likelihood of nominations and they've all mostly seen Wicked already at industry screenings so it's an informed prediction. Basically she wouldn't be #3 in the overall odds if she was a long shot. And yes the meltdowns will be glorious to witness lol. All these Amanda stans will all of a sudden go into hiding. No surprise.

?? She got an oscar nomination in 2021 and won an emmy and golden globe in 2023.
