This idea that people always try to push that artists owe us nothing because it is art is so narrow-minded.

 

artists do not owe us their art, yes. Sza does not owe us new music ever. but once it you have advertised a product, it becomes about the business practice and that's why no matter which way you spin it, for any artist, delays are unprofessional.

It's not even about oweing people anything at this point, it's professionalism and trust. A lot of money and time goes into these things because music is essentially a business as much as any other, but if an artist can't stick to their word it just makes them look floppy ngl

To an extent, but she's an artist, fans are her customers, she "owes" keeping to times/dates that she's announced.

Of course we're mad, this isn't some random up and coming soundcloud girl recording in her basement in between shifts, she is an established artist who takes our coins for a product (MUSIC).  YET AGAIN she keeps playing games with a release, no wonder people leak her crap all the time.
