I think saying everyone upset about this is "melting down" is kind of a way to deflect criticism/heat off SZA and make everyone who is annoyed she did not deliver a project she advertised to be available at a certain time seem crazy. The criticism of her is valid and called for at this point considering she's being really unprofessional and just constantly strings fans along with mind changes and mood switches.
 

Artists in general have gotten WAY too comfortable not keeping promises to fan who spend a lot of time and money on them!! The LEAST they could do is deliver on time  the type of fans waiting with bated breath on release day are your same fans who spend hundreds for your concert tickets & vinyls

I think she's going to push back the release one week. It never really made sense to release it during the Christmas rush anyways.

All jokes aside, it is unprofessional to delay a release. There is literally nothing you can say to deny that.

 

on the other hand, its not that serious. But it would be dishonest to say people are feeling entitled or have no right to be annoyed.

reminder that no one was even asking for this deluxe anymore and then she was the one that started teasing it again saying itd be released until the end of the year + set a presave link + announced a date + posted a cover + confirmed countless times it was coming today

Like any other business which is what this is, if you advertise a release and it doesn't come or get delayed, customers have the right to be upset.

 

she/her label DO owe fans a normal release as advertised. if it wasnt ready, she should have just surprised dropped when it was. THEN you would be correct in saying she doesn't owe us anything because there's no promises made.

i agree she doesn't owe us anything, i think the frustration comes from the lack of clear and direct communication, and when there is (last night — "deluxe out FIRST THING IN THE AM") and there's no follow through, it creates disappointment. 

 

it would be different if she communicated a change of mind or a change in plans, but the uncertainty and lack of communication is what drives people insane.
