Jude Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Here's the longer version. So apparently this scene was meant to be funny. But this isn't really funny imo. 1

Try to watch the whole thing, not everything will be funny in parts. Its an independent movie that was made for festivals, Netflix US, UK and Canada and other companies in other countries got it rights cuz it caused a fuss. 1
ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted 8 hours ago ATRL Moderator Posted 8 hours ago Of course Selena “sang off key in my chorus” Gomez would star in a movie like this 4 4
Kill Me Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Looks like a campy experimental masterpiece to me. No wonder the festivals are going crazy and awarding them everything. 3

I'm just judging that particular clip and it made me cringe at first. Good to hear the critics are praising the film.

Your fave has released 8 albums (including re-recordings) since that performance happened, why are u stuck in it. Edited 7 hours ago by Selegend 2
OrgVisual Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago At least it's a comedy so it can be understandable. JFAD on the other hand...

Axolotl Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I Saw the TV Glow is much better representation for Trans people than this like wtf is that song and its delivery 1
Green Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I guess critics like what they like It's ART but in reality it looks like an SNL parody I was excited to see this film but after listening the song which it's the frontrunner to win Best Original song and watching some scenes I guess it's not for me 3
TheBoss Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago It's definitely a drama, campy drama at that, watched it last night and had lots of fun! good movie and i was really surprised by Selena Gomez and this comes from an OSGH 1
Green Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago wait is this a comedy? will it be at the golden globes in the musical/comedy categories?
Heirloom Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) This SNL ass scene I WOULD NOT be gaslighted by French critics and Twitter losers that this is a good movie Edited 6 hours ago by Heirloom 4
no_better Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Isn't the rhetoric here to destigmatise the conversations around gender affirming healthcare by presenting it in a campy context? There is so much mysticism around the topic that is not necessarily benefiting trans folk
